rolex My 6538 with blue faded insert build

Hello all!

 

This is my first "Big Crown" and second build for Rolex vintage, so I've taken some time to source the parts and it is now done!

Many thanks Big Dazza for a great dial and Athaya for a grate crown.

 

What I've got here is 

 

Big Dazza dial

Yuki 20mm bracelet. Probably will try to source yuki 7206 bracelet.  

Yuki gold hands.

Lollipop second hand from ebay.

Silix 6538 case set and plastic dome.  Brassy egde, lower the plexi, redrill the lugs hole, drill and tapped for to the match new tube and lugs bevel by me.

Helenarou red triangle insert. Faded by me

ETA 2846 movement

Athaya 8mm crown and tube

2mm fat spring bars.

Yes, case set from Silix.

I am using bleach 100% without water. Leaving the insert in for 30 second and repeat 2-3 times, and last bleaching at 1 min.

Looks very nice!  Did you send the original Silix dial to Big Dazza to work on, or is that a separate dial that he aged?  Just wondering if it is possible to make the stock Silix dial look that amazing.

Yes, the original is black.

I not sure but i think because I used to be repeated several times, but less time.

Damn, I sidelined my 6538 budget build due to busy life getting in the way, but I'm really wanting to get back to the planning stage again after seeing this.  I might have to dust off the spreadsheet and get started planning again.

Hey nice work here.  Looks great.  I agree with others the aging on the insert turned out excellent.  A rivet bracelet would definitely be in order.

Can you provide a photo of your crown at an angle relative to the case to show if it protrudes at all? My HR case - the crown protrudes a good bit.

Nice one, this really makes me want to get off my lazy [censored] and finish my silix which I reshaped about 10 months ago ! That's it, I'm reluming the dial tonight !!!! :-) Nothing like a great build to get some motivation going :-)
