john8880000 Posted July 14, 2007 Report Posted July 14, 2007 wanna know the best rep you've bought in terms of appearance and quality and where you bought it
cornerstone Posted July 14, 2007 Report Posted July 14, 2007 Why, are you making conversation or preparing an indictment? I think the IWC Ingy is out of this world in terms of quality. Nearly every review of the Breitling SFSO talks of its impressive quality, also of the latest Panerai Ferraris', although I have neither.
fitmic Posted July 14, 2007 Report Posted July 14, 2007 My absolute favorite is the orange ultimate Planet Ocean from Andrew. Qaulity is superb, but like all replicas there are flaws. Another favourite of mine is the Omega Constellation Double Eagle. Can't remember if that one was bought from Andrew or EddieLee. Upgrade your membership and you'll find more info on where to find trusted dealers.
Watchmeister Posted July 14, 2007 Report Posted July 14, 2007 Other things are as good or better when modded but Out of the Box: Old school - Chrono Avenger with open 4's. New school - 3717, Aquatimer or BCE with newer dial. Not that they aren't modded either. Can't include any PAM's as IMHO they require superlume.
ubiquitous Posted July 14, 2007 Report Posted July 14, 2007 My best out-of-the-box reps that I've purchased: My best frankensteins that I've built:
TeeJay Posted July 14, 2007 Report Posted July 14, 2007 My 'best rep' in terms of quality of replication, is my Rolex Submariner, which I bought for $800 from EuroFakes. It now sits on the shelf gathering dust because I now prefer Omega watches... My 'favorite rep' is a coin-toss between the watches in my 'Casino Royale' collection: My Planet Ocean Big Size, and my 2220.80 SMP. The PO is a larger watch, the strap is more comfortable than an SS Bracelet, and it has a more 'rugged' feel to it. The SMP is more 'decorative' in terms of dial pattern and bracelet links. To be honest, I'd rather wear my faulty X-33 than my Submariner now... The only reason I keep it is sentimental value, as it was the first 'expensive watch' I bought, and was a model I'd wanted for years...
Pugwash Posted July 14, 2007 Report Posted July 14, 2007 The best available mainstream replica is the ETA-powered Breitling Superocean Steelfish. No debates, no discussions, that's the answer. Sure, there are a lot of damned good replicas out there right now, like the IWC 3717 or the so-called Ultimate Planet Ocean, but hands down, the Steelfish tops them. Don't take my word for it exclusively, though. Read some reviews.
Stephane Posted July 14, 2007 Report Posted July 14, 2007 Out of the box, my Puged 3717 or my SFSO Asian. Modified, 1680 RED and 1665 GW. At this stage of my learning, all needs some mods, even very light ones. Cheers Stephane
Pugwash Posted July 14, 2007 Report Posted July 14, 2007 Out of the box, my Puged 3717 or my SFSO Asian. Yay, someone other than me will have a Pugged watch!
drop Posted July 14, 2007 Report Posted July 14, 2007 Unmodded, as far as accuracy and quality go, my FM Conquistador (no longer available) or my HBB (King - if you ignore the stickers on the rotor). Despite flaws, I love wearing my Davidsen 201A and VC Overseas (Ruby) - both are of exceptional quality.
arty909 Posted July 14, 2007 Report Posted July 14, 2007 I can't seem to narrow it down to just one. These were from six different dealers; many from before I discovered this forum. As you see, I have a thing for vintage Rollies... Happy weekend! Arty
promotersf Posted July 14, 2007 Report Posted July 14, 2007 So many good reps, but there are a few GREAT reps: These are my favorites that get the most wrist time: SteelFish SuperOcean on Genuine Black Rubber Ultimate PO w/superlume by The Zigmeister and Double AR IWC Ingenier w/superlume by The Zigmeister and Double AR PAM 196 7753 w/superlume by The Zigmeister, genuine crown install and Single AR(still waiting for the AR to come in) PAM 063 w/superlume by The Zigmeister and genuine crown install IWC 3717 w/superlume by The Zigmeister and Double AR and swiss 7750 swap, eta datewheel swap Hublot Big Bang after The Zigmeister Servicing I like variety but my other 20 sit in the box or in the watch winders. I love them but it might be time for a super sale now that i think about it.
sub1 Posted July 14, 2007 Report Posted July 14, 2007 PAM 111H from Andrew, modded by The Zigmeister. IWC Ingy from Josh unmodded.
Corgi Posted July 15, 2007 Report Posted July 15, 2007 Totally stock Omega SMP Chronometer from Joshua... amazing price for a perfect, flawless (and delightfully massive) clock!
Nebakanezzar Posted July 15, 2007 Report Posted July 15, 2007 most accurate and best fit and finish goes to the Ingy. Most favorite goes to my 7753 196.
By-Tor Posted July 15, 2007 Report Posted July 15, 2007 (edited) I agree with Pugwash. Steelfish SuperOcean is the best I've seen. Followed by TAG Link Chronograph and Omega Planet Ocean "UPO". Other really impressive reps are: Seamaster Chronograph "Bond" Rolex Explorer II hour hand adjustable (the black version) Rolex Explorer I Breitling Chronomat Evolution (the AR version) Edited July 15, 2007 by By-Tor
Guest Carl Posted July 15, 2007 Report Posted July 15, 2007 Rolex Air-King from Silix. but I'm just a Noob.
TWP Posted July 15, 2007 Report Posted July 15, 2007 I will give you the top three in IMO. Asian version or swiss hands down they are the best built reps.
Kollektor Posted July 15, 2007 Report Posted July 15, 2007 Sant 100 chrono 7753 from Andrew without any question whatsoever! SF, PO, PAMs, 1665 are great, but the 100 is in a league of its own...
Raijor Posted July 15, 2007 Report Posted July 15, 2007 I have two Double Red Seadwellers - both modded and they are my best reps - one was purchased from a member and I wear it on a bracelet and the other I modded and I wear it on a Nato. Cheers
FxrAndy Posted July 15, 2007 Report Posted July 15, 2007 Out of the box for me has to be my railmaster.
