Seadweller4000 Posted March 11, 2008 Report Posted March 11, 2008 Sounds great! Jay introdces quite some cool watches lately! As for the movement, what is likely to appear in this model? I think it might be the asian ST-18, copy of the famous 2892 ETA...
Seadweller4000 Posted March 11, 2008 Report Posted March 11, 2008 Hope Taka will chime in - he is expert on asian mvmts.
baltic Posted March 13, 2008 Report Posted March 13, 2008 Erm, haven't done this for a while, so here goes... HOOF!
yellomen Posted March 14, 2008 Report Posted March 14, 2008 Ohhh... this is starting to go in the right direction... now wait and see what they come up with. I hope they will check my post on the 3th page with some basic info!!
puttputt Posted March 17, 2008 Report Posted March 17, 2008 Great news that this might actually get made. Yowzaaaaaaaa!
erwinner Posted March 19, 2008 Report Posted March 19, 2008 Sounds great.... Personally I've been begging at silix a couple of times as well, so apparently it pays off to make a lot of noize ;-)
rastapopolos Posted March 21, 2008 Report Posted March 21, 2008 Sweet, sweet, schweeeeet, bump, bump, bump
Tjabo Posted March 23, 2008 Report Posted March 23, 2008 This is the first watch in a while I've been pretty interested in. . . I think I might be able to count myself on the list, I'm just not sure about the size. I kind of like a substantially sized watch, even though my wrist isn't huge. It's just a preference thing I guess. By the way, I also like this: http://www.kingshowbox.com/gallery.php?id=599&img=7750 I don't know anything about IWCs though, so I don't even know what to call it! Hah hah. . .
yellomen Posted March 31, 2008 Report Posted March 31, 2008 I don't have contact with any of the dealers lately, so no info regarding possible plans to copy the Mark XVI. So another BUMP
erwinner Posted April 1, 2008 Report Posted April 1, 2008 today i've sent my earlier request of 2007 to Angel & Jay again.... as soon as i've got any newz, you'll be the first to know!
FxrAndy Posted April 1, 2008 Report Posted April 1, 2008 Any new news would be good about this, how can they not make it ? it is sooooo simple
erwinner Posted April 2, 2008 Report Posted April 2, 2008 too bad.... this is the answer I received from Angel & Jay :-( -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Date: Wed, 2 Apr 2008 23:42:26 +0800 From: silixprime@gmail.com To: xxx@hotmail.com Subject: Re: mk xvi Not much, still waiting. :-(
eunomians Posted April 2, 2008 Report Posted April 2, 2008 I have a feeling this ain't gonna be made. Like I've said 100+ times, anything so simple in design is too utterly complicated to rep. The factories wouldn't dare attempt such a difficult project. Besides, at this point, China is wholly enthralled with a Nouveaux-Riches mentality, so repping idiotic watches such as Grahams and DeWitts fit the bill better than the lowly zen-like simple MK XVI.
Pugwash Posted April 2, 2008 Report Posted April 2, 2008 Was this ever a realistic proposal? Remember the polls to get a watch made? Nothing came of that.
FxrAndy Posted April 2, 2008 Report Posted April 2, 2008 I actualy think that the polls were usefull in the long run, I am sure a couple of them were made in the end, was the slevin not the poll winner?
Pugwash Posted April 7, 2008 Report Posted April 7, 2008 I actualy think that the polls were usefull in the long run, I am sure a couple of them were made in the end, was the slevin not the poll winner? Sure, but not by the manufacturer that put up the compo.
FxrAndy Posted April 8, 2008 Report Posted April 8, 2008 True, mate but i think there were looked at by manufacturers
dovo1695 Posted April 10, 2008 Report Posted April 10, 2008 The April 2008 issue of "Watch Time" magazine has a full page write up on the Mark XVI with some gorgeous pictures (lume shot included!). I would buy one of these watches in a second if they decide to rep it.
