Where and when for an Oz GTG?

  1. 1. If a GTG was arranged for say April thru June, I would be more likely to attend

    • If it was in Sydney

    • If it was in Melbourne

    • If it was in Brisbane/Gold coast.

  2. 2. I would be interested to attend-

    • On one day

So, inspired by the Brussells GTG, I am seeking some feedback, on a potential GTG, in sunny Australia.

We have a bunch of members here, and three from the admin team, so I'm sure collectively, we may be able to arrange something.

This will hopefully give us some ideas to move futher down the path.

Well Stephane it wont be a classy do like yours, the typical Aussie gtg is to have a piss up, burn a few snags on the barbie, have a blue and a punch up, more piss, sing a few ditties and then go trawling for shelias.

In Australia we call it bonding. :D

This is OZ, as you know, sunbeam,

We can do the smoked salmon, crab, lobster, caviar, trout, bloody vol-au-vents , any thing you

care to name , if everybody is willing to pay for it.

Any one can still have a snag or burger, blue, and still run after the sheilas, if they please.

Just let it happen!!!!

I`m in for the weekend, day, night, whatever, pay by the hour, escorts, hostess`s.

Its that long journey that makes it worthwhile Stephane.

Anyways, any where in the world is only 26 hours away. ( not counting any hold ups etc. )

In practical terms, getting people to go interstate is not going to be easy - I'm not sure good intentions alone would get folk on a plane or drive for 12 hours.

So my thoughts are that 2 alternatives might be more realistic -

One would be to have more than one local GTG in each city, perhaps on the same day - that would be easy, and here it is long overdue.

The other is that to get folk to travel interstate they would have to be travelling for something a bit special - as in, we all chip in for some kind of awesome day out, like hiring a boat and skipper between us for day, alcohol and food, I don't know. If people chip in a hundred bucks or whatever towards whatever that special something might be, I think they are more inclined to travel for it, if that makes sense.

Just a few thoughts anyway.
