Watchmeister Posted March 16, 2008 Report Posted March 16, 2008 Here is the latest vintage project. Enjoy it. WM 3646 with WM dial and hands, monster custom plexi and you can see the movement. It ain't no Poljot. I can't take credit on this one as friends really did it all for me. The friends shall remain anonymous as I suspect they do not want to be inundated with requests - but you know who you are and I am deeply grateful.
FxrAndy Posted March 16, 2008 Report Posted March 16, 2008 That really is a monster plexi, i would be so scared of bashing it on every door i went past
peepshow Posted March 16, 2008 Report Posted March 16, 2008 Looks great, kruz! What a great project! You need to have someone sew a nice vintage-y or ammo strap on there for you.
elprimerozen Posted March 16, 2008 Report Posted March 16, 2008 Superb!! More pics.. more pics.. and go to the rolex area.!!
Watchmeister Posted March 16, 2008 Author Report Posted March 16, 2008 Half the fun is bashing it. Frankly I also need to do a little case nicking as well.
peepshow Posted March 16, 2008 Report Posted March 16, 2008 Put it in a Ziplock bag full of spare change and give it a few good shakes?
Jetsons Posted March 16, 2008 Report Posted March 16, 2008 Terrific Panny, Kruz! That's one imposing crystal. I would love to see it someday. Sort of brings to mind the ultra rare deep sea.
Watchmeister Posted March 16, 2008 Author Report Posted March 16, 2008 Somehow the thought of tossing coins around a 70 year old movie (oops ,movement I happen to be watching one right now) scares the crap out of me. I would love to do it but the fact that is keeping fabulous time as is stops me from doing it.
Guest porsche356a Posted March 16, 2008 Report Posted March 16, 2008 Absolutely fantastic! An amazing and rare example-
ravishingrick Posted March 16, 2008 Report Posted March 16, 2008 Magnificent piece, please don't over do it with the nicking and bashing..
Stephane Posted March 16, 2008 Report Posted March 16, 2008 Congrats Kruzer. Very imposing watch. What a mvt Wear it well. Cheers Stephane
Virgil Hilts Posted March 16, 2008 Report Posted March 16, 2008 Wow. I mean...wow. Love it. That movement is gorgeous. Well done. In some respects, I'd rather have that than a gen post-V Panny.
Star69 Posted March 16, 2008 Report Posted March 16, 2008 besides the great movement i love this case ! the fat bezel - wow . congrats - a masterpiece. i guess nobody knows where to get such a vintage case ?? cheers, Frank
Watchmeister Posted March 16, 2008 Author Report Posted March 16, 2008 The case is Kenzo so it is 3-4 years old. In all honesty it is not that different than some of the other cases offered and if you have the patience all these cases have enough metal so that you can do some reshaping. Beano was offering one that had some nice case rework on it from Finepics. But yes, I do like Kenzo's stuff.
Watchmeister Posted March 16, 2008 Author Report Posted March 16, 2008 I am off for vacation in a day or two to a Carribean resort so this will definitely be one of the three I will bring. I always bring one gen, one rep and one franken. This one is the franken. On the rep side I am thinking of the Swiss HBB Mellow Yellow and on the gen we will just have to see.

Amazing watch Warren.. congrats.. It just needs two things: 1. Kevin's / Adeeos 1:1 3646 case (ain't cheap but this movement really deserves it) 2. A sewn-in 26mm strap. This strap with the screws and the 24mm size is really bad
ubiquitous Posted March 16, 2008 Report Posted March 16, 2008 Unreal! That is one monster of a watch. When you told me about this one on Friday, I wasn't expecting anything like this! That crystal is out of this world!
fishgodeep Posted March 16, 2008 Report Posted March 16, 2008 Looks fantastic ....HOOGE...and looks like it spent some time with the fishes !! Another inspirtional vintage piece!!
promotersf Posted March 17, 2008 Report Posted March 17, 2008 Nice one Warren, amazing project! I figure you always have a "project" in the works!
