jfa657
Greetings from the East Coast. Are there any fans for the Rolex Explorer I out there in rep world? I have several from the different dealers and they show understated elegance! I never have been called out on mine!
highoeyazmuhudee
i dont think many people appreciate its simplicity
Nanuq
IMHO one of the best. It's small so it fits under winter gear and you don't have to struggle to get mitts over it. It's nearly unbreakable and because it's so unintrusive you find yourself just wearing it all the time. double thumbs up
Shundi
I LOVEEEEEEEEE THE EXPLORER I!!! I'm going to be taking one on as a franken and I'm searching for a modern and vintage gen to add to my collections. IMHO probably the best bang for your buck rep. chefcook
I thought of building a franken of a 114270 Explorer I, but then made the ultimate decision and bought a gen a few weeks ago It is the most understated sporty Rolex. It's nice with a business outfit, with casual style as well as outdoor cloths while climbing. It is just perfect for me and probably the Rolex I love most. Chino
had one and loved it, very difficult to be called on it, and of course as it's small is a comfortable watch to wear. I'd like to see a revolutionary rolex design of a 40mm explorer I. cheers!

ubiquitous
The closest may be an Air King with white dial... But it's smaller than the 14270/114270...
pollux1
I never really noticed the explorer before, but after seeing Ubi's franken i've got to have one!
chiefwiggum
The closest may be an Air King with white dial... But it's smaller than the 14270/114270... Thanks Ubiuitous. I actually spoke to Chris at Eurotimez yesterday and he said he didn't think they came with white face. I just saw the Ex2 and Ex (both) in black and I thought they looked the nutz, so I wanted to try and get a pertner for my gen White Ex2. I'll check out the Air King though - Thanks for the advice. Nanuq
If the Exp-I is good enough for Tenzing Norgay it's good enough for me.
dluddy
Love the Explorer I. On my Franken short list right now....
dieselpower
Any Fans? Are you mad? The Explorer 1 is superb. The 1016 is the one to go for. I believe that in the design world simplicity is difficult to achieve and the 1016 hits the nail right on the head. I really want to get the kit together to build a 1016 franken. Stilty is the expert in this department, if my memory serves me right he has made a beauty at very reasonable cost. Great watch.

yellomen
I'd love to get a nice Rolex Explorer I But before i start looking... i read somewhere it has blue superlume... could someone confirm this? If that is true i will need an OEM dial, because reps only have green lume.

Heywood
I love my Franken Explorer and wear it almost every day. It looks good with a suit, jeans, shorts pretty much anything. Kind of like a sport datejust.

happypupy
Probably one of the few Rolexes I'd acually go out of my way for. Personally I love a simple watch. Something like a Movada Museum is my personal pref. No bells or whistles. Just a well made sleek timepiece. I think I'd like to see an Explorer with a leather band. Hmmmmm.... jfa657
Hello again! I tried a leather band on one of mine and it didn't look right without the end links. Mine has solid end links and they don't fit the band. You can see the serial and model numbers easily. Comments?'
