Hi guys, so I recently bought my first ever Rolex! I had it made by a fellow forum member and let me say I'm absolutely in love with it. Gorgeous piece, great quality, very comfortable to wear and I've gotten tons of compliments on it already and it's only the first day I've had it! Here are a few pictures and they really don't do it justice at all, definitely something that needs to be seen in person to be appreciated fully.

I once had a quarts digital watch. After pulling to bits out of curiosity and putting it back together, the numbers were like an alien alphabet, they weren't numbers at all. Rather than dismantle it and try to fix it, I could still see that the second digits were changing once a second, and the minutes once a minute, so knew it was just the digits garbled. So I worked out what garbled number meant really, and once I knew that I could read the time, so I kept it and wore it for years. I could tell the time as fast as reading a normal digital watch, it was fun when someone asked me for the time and I showed it to them

The watch is beautiful, but why they would write "vintage" on the dial eludes me. "OCEAN ONE" on the top and maybe a depth rating on the bottom would have looked a lot better IMHO

It's been magnetized. You need to demagneitize it. Here is how you do that. Take an extension cord, cut the end off of it, trim the insulation from each wire, plug it into the socket. Now touch you movement with both ends. Be careful though. After you see the 110 volt spark, through that movement away and buy a new one, because it is toast. LOL PLEASE DON"T DO THAT iM ONLY KIDDING.

Just wanted to say thanks to all the people here who have taught me so much. Literally everything I know about watches I've learned here over the past couple years. I bought a sub off another member a while back and he had modded it and left some dust on the dial. It's been annoying me forever so tonight I took it apart, cleaned it, and put it all back together in about an hr. Two years ago I would of had no idea how to even start such a task. I know this is not a complicated task but this is just one of many mods i can now perform flawlessly without much worry. Yes i broke a few keyless to get to this point. So thanks to everyone here. This is truly an amazing knowledge base.

A genuine 1675 case back is 35.45 to 35.5mm in overall diameter...4.4mm thick +/- a hair or two depending on wear...and the threads in the case back are 30.20mm in diameter. This might help finding one. When buying genuine, watch out for corrosion. Lot of junk out there.

Remember too most on the street wouldn't have a clue what an AP diver even is not saying I'm a millionaire or not but I have multi multi millionaire friends and clients that 1 have no idea what AP is and 2. Nice to see so many positive sentiments for Toro Bravo. I've not had the opportunity to deal with him yet. So many good words written about him inspires confidence, to be sure. It is Chinese New Year which I only know as a one day affair. Year of the horse. Last year , (the snake), was not the best, but worst year of my life. Seems like things are better this new lunar year. I wish everyone happiness and prosperity. Also, saddle up hop on your horse and run like the wind!!!

That red SD is still a beauty & I would much rather watch it than the SB.

I've used a satin varnish binder, acrylic paint, and Masa (corn flour). I found masa creates the best texture..regular wheat flour is too fine... But getting the consistency is the key. Obviously no lume with the above ingredients.

Fantastic post, blue.! Seeing these pictures makes me fall in love with with the 1016 all over again. Luckily, I'm just a few feet away from my watch box! Regarding the crystals, the problem with the MBW (and almost all 1016 reps) is that the dome is too low. On the gen, the crystal protrudes by nearly 1mm before the crystal starts to curve. Like so: No. On Lanikai's Gilt 1016 build, he asked Zigmeister to shave a Clark T22 so that it would fit the MBW. The results were not pretty, as the modifications completely killed the profile of the crystal. This is not a knock on Zig's work (which is always exemplary), but more an observation of how you can't squeeze a square peg in a round hole.

Hi hampie, You can't buy Asian 7750 spares. Most parts are interchangeable with the ETA version. Not all. Can't exactly say which are and which aren't. I mostly just try. Movements that don't have spares become spares! That way I collected about 10 a7750s for spares
