  3. That looks great! I bought one of these when they first came out and I think only wore it once 'cause it was too shiny and "blingy" looking! This one looks like it means business.

  9. Sadly there are no good starting point reps for a 1675 build, you can use the cartel 1655 explorer case but you will need to take a lot of metal off the outer edges of the CG's to get it remotely like the Gen and the case is too thick as well. I have spoken to the Cartel boys and asked if they would consider a good 1657/1655 rep so we will see.

  10. i'd say for the price the cartel. mbk has a marginally better case back and bezel ring. the rest (dial, movement, crystal, crown, hands) youre gonna replace anyways

  12. I got them on Ebay as he has a sale. I bought a few at 7 USD each. I first mill a larger hole in the center then mount the dial on a holder on a vertical drill to make it of the right diameter. Then, I glue the dial between 2 thick plastic sheets to hold and hollow it on the same vertical drill. Then dip into a chemical to clean the glue and finally buff with 3M pad for a nice clean matte finish !

  13. Just a little preview of what will hopefully be a somewhat meaningful contribution to this project thread. I was sending a genuine 1016 Explorer I service dial off to PBDad today to get a lume job and scanned the dial into PS/Illustrator so I could work the various elements into vectors/separate vector files. This dial presented a unique opportunity in that when I got it (and before it went to PBDad) it was COMPLETELY unlumed. Made the scan nice and crisp; you can even make out the serifs in the numerals and hour indices! Cranked up the dpi and then upped the contrast several times. I'll post the illustrator file up here in this thread once I finish with it and get it sized properly...

  14. Although you might not see it the new mod team is hard at work. Dealers being contacted , scammers chased down (as usual) , new events in the works, our pic contest is just the first (your voting will come very soon). The mod area which you can not see has at least 7-8 threads going on all sorts of improvements, tweaks, discussions. One of our biggest and most passionately discussed being the heart and sole of RWG, do we become like the others or stay true to our core principals. Well we will be staying the gentlemen of the forum world, a site of knowledge,(not fanfare, member jumping, time outs and nukes a flying) is where we are and where we shall stay! We will be running some membership drives but do not seek to become the wild west like the others rather the home of the serious measured gentlemanly hobbyist.
