  1. "cartel case and MBW case won't take a gen 1520 movement out-of-the-box: for starters, the cartel case and mbw case have different crown/stem/tube height to a gen case." MBK cases will accept a genuine rlx 1575 date movement but the dial window is machined for a 26.0mm 55xx dial so it is in reality a 1680 case with a dial window machined for a 55xx dial. It is not difficult to open the dial window up to 26.5mm if needed. The crown position is basically the same as on a genuine 1680, not a 55xx, that is why it looks wrong. To use a 1520, 1530, 1560, 1570 you will have to use some 1575 date parts to position the movement correctly in the case. Some cartel cases will accept a rlx 15xx movement, many will not. For example, most 55xx and 1680 cases from 'Paul' (Abay) will accept a rlx 15xx date movement and the dial window is 26.5mm same as rlx 1680. Rule of thumb - a case made for an ETA 2824 will usually accept a rlx 1520, 1570 etc no date mvt...a case made for an ETA 2836 will usually accept a rlx 15xx date movement providing the inside diameter of the case is big enough and the dial window is the right size. For more details, see "Building an MBW sub" in the sticky above the rlx section. Jovi75... Good luck! I know it is not easy putting one of these projects together but the more you can learn, the easier it will get. Experience IS the best teacher...but it is also the most expensive.

  3. Just thought I would share some pics of one of @legend latest creations which is a true beauty. Gen dial, gen hand set and gen crystal. Only received it today and I don’t think I have had a watch noticed so much before. Extremely grateful thank you [emoji119] Sent from me

  8. Jovi75, you attracted the interest of some of the strongest builders here, or anywhere. These guys have forgotten more than most guys will ever learn about vintage Rolex. So pay close attention to everything they tell you. You have some okay parts but you're going to hate your case before this is over. If it's not sized to accept gen parts, you're going to waste more on crap parts that don't fit, than you would spend to just get a good case. Then look at your dial. No 5513 dial has metal surrounds on the indexes. You want a good bezel and insert... that won't fit what you have now. Like the man said, stop spending money and READ. We have solved all these problems here and the information is at your fingers. When you have read everything and understand it, then we will take the next steps to help you complete a perfect project.

  9. No front fenders, upright rad grille, exposed engine, no power steering, beam front axle, big and littles, not much good at cornering and minimal brakes, but loads of power. Oh yeah, traditional hot rod........ Irish style 28 hours in various tractors in the last 48 including these two antiques, and no I was not the silly c*** who drove the 265 into the buck rake on the 135 and destroyed two tyres

  10. Also Tonnywatches went legit some time ago and doesn’t sell any aftermarket or replica parts now. Undoubtedly Tonny bought in from a supplier and that supplier is still producing, but who it is and how to contact them isn’t going to be easy to find out
