  1. Why would you spend what closely approaches the cost of a new rep to service an old one...??...Just buy another watch!!
  2. He should build a rectangular model...... He could call it the "Manx Tank"....
  3. This guy is posting this on other rep sites also....Smells kinda "shilly" to me!!!
  4. A couple of dozen assorted toys... Carefully packed of course....
  5. Think about the math......China has strict birth control laws, 2 billion people, at least 1/2 of them having sex nightly, most use condoms, China recycles everything, do you think they throw all those used condoms into the trash...?? Next time you put a Chinese made rubber watch strap on, remember this post!!!
  6. I have a serious issue with him!!! The bas---d offers too many really great bargains!! I've resolved to cease buying any new watches, but his offerings are almost driving me over the edge!!
  7. Not to mention that his watch is on the wrong wrist too !!! I think it has something to do with the fact that his whole continent is upside down!!!
  8. Beach house in Finland...???....An Igloo...???
  9. Reading these necroposts is kinda like time travel backwards!!....Lots of familiar, but now rarely seen names....
  10. Sheer insanity to spend that much on a rep INNSFHO...But....If we were sane, we'd be collecting something else now wouldn't we...???
  11. I'm wearing this one right now....: http://s12.photobucket.com/user/franktrotti/media/IMG_1874.jpg.html]%5BIMG%5Dhttp://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a211/franktrotti/IMG_1874.jpg It's 42mm and a 21j cheapo that I've had for @ 5 years now...
  12. The bar girls in Olongapo used to have a saying: "You can always tell a navy pilot......Big watch....tiny weenie!!"
  13. Since he's in essence a "drop shipper", and never actually personally handles the watch, you have to in actuality, depend upon the trust level HE has for the folks allegedly servicing the watch......Too "dodgy" IMNSFHO!! Buy the watch, and if you decide it needs "service" get it done yourself.... Remember, these fellows are involved in an illegal enterprise, and they mostly were born into a society where "let the buyer beware" is the general rule of commerce...Thus giving us a long history of somewhat "stretched" descriptions of stuff like movement origins, crystal materials, strap materials etc..Nuff said......

    North Korea?

    Rodman is an idiot....
  15. I know how you feel buddy....It got down to 53f here last night...had to pull the blanket up!!!
  16. Yeah...welcome back....I've also been in and out a few times since the old days, and since I usually only buy asian movement models, I haven't been keeping up to date with the repair end of things...When they break(which only has happened a few times), I just drop them into my junk box and move on...
  17. Back when i was a banquet chef I never wore any decent watches in the kitchen....I usually wore a POS Rolex style homage Sub that I bought somewhere for @ $40.00... Too many opportunities to get a decent watch "fubared" in that environment...
  18. It's almost ironic that when I was collecting gens, a "franken" was a bad thing, and now that I'm into reps, a "franken" is a desirable item...Go figure!!
  19. I live in SW Florida(That's as humid as it gets!!!)......I own @ 30 replica watches.....I have over the past 7 years had literally hundreds of various watches, the vast majority of them the cheaper Asian movement type, pass through my collection...I have NEVER had a "humidity related" failure that I can recall.... IMNSFHO, paying a premium price to avoid such a problem would be a colossal waste of money....
  20. The latest regulation, IIRC is: In order to be labeled "Swiss", the factory workers who assemble it must promise to eat a sandwich made with cheese with holes in it at least 3 times per year. In reality the whole "Swiss made" concept is a joke....I really get especially amused when reading posts here, and on the other rep fora, about guys trying to "authenticate" the alleged Swiss movements that they got suckered into paying an extra C note for from the dealers...
  21. If you go to Olongopo...... Go up main street till the end, turn right, go @ 1/2 kilo to the "Rose" cafe...Ask for Erlinda.....Tell her "4 eyes" sent you... It's been @ 48 years, but i'm sure she'll remember me... PS...Be careful!!!....She carries a loaded .45 auto in her purse at all times!!! ahhhhhh......true love!!!!
  22. Just remember.....removing metal=easy........ replacing metal=NOT easy!!....So "go slow"!!!
  23. Having lived at sea level my whole life, I can recall getting a bit "buzzy" for the first couple of days during a trip to Denver a few years back... I cannot even imagine the situation I'd be in at the altitudes you encounter on an Everest trek!!!! I have never been comfortable in "high" places...In fact I sometimes get nervous standing on a thick rug!!
  24. Hey MD2020 .....Is your user name a referral to a certain "beverage"..????
