  1. I'm wearing a Silix $29.00 PO as I type this...I was tidying up my watch shelf this morning and found it...I had forgotten buying it.....It ain't too bad!! here's a pic on a non matching bracelet that I think looks OK on it: The watch is not a replica of anything that you could buy at an AD, but it has decent fit and finish, and I particularly like the "QOS" textured dial finish with out the "QOS" etching on the crystal.... The existence of a watch of this quality for such a ridiculously low price is probably because there were a bunch of leftover parts hanging around some Chinese guys basement... For instance, the 45mm case has 20mm bracelet ends and it is an exact match to one I bought @ 5 years ago from TTK....The QOS dial was also most likely a production overrun from that not so popular issue, and the bracelet that comes with it is a joke!! Trust me Omega never made ANYTHING like THAT!! (notice the spelling!!)
  2. All of the rep forums....And TZ when I'm buying or selling gens...I started on TZ when R.Paige and Walter O. were the main guys...Last century!!!!
  3. Here's a lume shot of MY Plopper with the lume masterfully applied by some 10 year old Chinese kid at the "factory"in GZ: And it glows all night long!!
  4. Another alternative: Buy yourself a few nice reps, and wear them.....If perchance one of them breaks, get it fixed if not, take all that money you were going to spend getting perfectly functional watches serviced and buy some more reps...Works for me!! :pimp:
  5. A wealth of clone info here: http://watchlords.forumotion.net/t993-clone-movements
  6. wow....92 votes!!!.....I guess that we have an undisputable consensus!!! Do you think the Guinness Book will make an entry...??? :pimp:
  7. @ 10 years ago I scored this on a BIN @ 3 minutes after it was posted for sale for $435.00...BNIB....It was 36 miles from where I was staying in Rhode Island...I drove there the same day and picked it up for cash before the seller got cold feet!!... An Omega Dynamic Chronograph BNIB with papers...It was @3 years old, still bearing the original Italian price tag. I still wear it whenever I feel the need to wear a gen.....And it still looks and runs like new!! I have turned down several offers to at least double my money on it over the years... Since this model was only made for a short period, it'll only increase in value....My youngest grand daughter has already laid claim to it when my time to go comes!! ;)
  8. My trysty "old school" 036 from Sead a few yrs ago....
  9. IMNSFHO: The dealer, in order to maintain his stature as a good guy to do business with, should send him the CORRECT bracelet, RIGHT NOW, along with a return envelope to send back the WRONG bracelet!! Using the "you approved the QC pictures" gambit here is at best inappropriate!! There is NO WAY anybody here would see that that is an incorrectly sized item!!! The moderators here should make this clear to the dealer...
  10. I think the REAL question is: What happened to the substantial amount of money that a bunch of trusting folks advanced to his organization before his untimely demise..??? When his old "partner" bought out his ownership, did he also assume his obligations pursuant to the business...??? :g:
  11. Only 50 made..... and they're STILL a glut on the market....hmmmmmm.....A Rolex look alike.....Now THAT'S an original idea!!! :fool:
  12. I ordered 10 bales just last week!! :pimp:

  14. if you're happy wearing a Seiko you should indeed forget about replicas...And be thankful that you haven't contracted the disease!!! :pimp:
  15. Just reading this thread reaffirms why I don't buy new Omega OEM's anymore!!.....Their damn service costs are outrageous!!..... :angry2: .
  16. Of course we're ALL insane...Spending money to buy obsolete technology that only serves to inform us of info available universally for virtually nothing!!! It's a matter of degrees, and how skilled one is at self delusion ....in my case....I have always funded my purchases by selling other stuff that I convinced my self to buy earlier, such as other watches, cameras, or other such junk... Just yesterday, I saw a Panerai rep offered for sale on one of the boards for $6800.00.......NOW.....THAT'S CRAZY!!!!!! :bangin:
  17. My ToroBravo 024 cheapo on old style steel... I kinda like it!!
  18. If I was pfishing for your SS number info I'd be very happy to have your place and date of birth to work with......Just saying.... :pimp:
  19. On many of the Santos models, these screws are just glued in place....I found out the hard way!! ;)
  20. Imagine, if you can, trying to get one of THOSE serviced!!!! Most likely a modified Chinese 21j "something"......I cannot imagine them building an entire proprietary movement for such a limited application...Then "going away" ..
  21. 1- Eddie Lee 2-Jimmy Fu 3-Fakey 4-TTK 5-WM9 Rotsa Ruck!!!!
  22. Hey ....Hey.....I'm only 70!!!!...
  23. an interesting Tsing Tao snippet: A few years back, a business associate of mine in the brewing industry brokered a deal selling all of the brewing equipment from the defunct Narragansett brewery in Rhode Island(my home state) to the Tsing Tao folks in Shanghai... So maybe a little of that "down home" character comes out in the product..??
  24. IIRC, this "dealer" was originally regarded as a scammer when he first emerged....Then a while later he became a venerated "superbuilder".......then a bunch of folks got $crewed on a prospective build deal.......Now he's dead or catatonic.... If you spend enough time around the rep world, you'll hear it all.....Won't you Neil...??? :pimp:
