  1. It seems that a little work with a "ScotchBrite" green pad, and a "UniPaint" pen should fix the problem fairly quickly and cheaply...... http://www.durablesu...epointpx21.html Or even a black "Sharpie" marker might suffice!!
  2. Might be real, but...It looks like a "redial" ....Check for a small notch at the 3:00 position on the dial... That HW movement with a non "free sprung" balance assembly gives me a little trouble too...I'm really not very familiar with HW rolex stuff...
  3. Those early Honda F1's had the "nest of snakes" bundles of tuned exhaust pipes rising from the inside of the engine vee....Really looked AND SOUNDED exotic!! http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploads4/hondaf11109169260.jpg On the one I saw, the pipes were pointed straight upwards
  4. +1 on that Honda F1 '60's vintage....I had the good luck to find a pit pass in the mud during the '67 USGP at Watkins Glen, and I hung out in the Eagle pits gabbing with Dan Gurney... Every time the Honda came around, everybody plugged their ears!!.... As a side note: The pit next to Eagle was the Cooper Maserati one with Jochen Rindt driving...The engine in it was a V12 with 3 spark plugs per cylinder....Each separate distributor had different colored wires.. They actually did a complete plug change mid race to cure a mis-firing situation....They did it in @ 2 minutes!! Here's one of the plugs I salvaged out of their trash bin!!: A Champion G-59-R "Peanut" plug....When you need to get 3 plugs into a head of a 1.5L V-12, you NEED skinny ones!!
  5. At least it's better looking than any of those "Big Bang" atrocities!! :clown:
  6. Back in the late '80's when we moved to S.W. Fl. we did the "annual pass" thing....But after 7 or 8 visits it starts to get "old".....We go up to Orlando every 2-3 yrs these days and it's more than enough "mouse" for me....
  7. Here's one... http://www.rwg.cc/topic/139815-fs-pam212-sapphire-crystal/
  8. Start slowly, with a mild solution, and stop when you like what you see....Remember: there is no practical way to undo a bleaching snafu!! Use a vinegar solution bath to immediately neutralize the bleach as soon as you are happy with the results....Then rinse thoroughly with clear water....
  9. When I was younger, living in New England I owned a Morgan 4/4 roadster that my wife once described the heater in as : "Like a little old lady breathing on your ankles" AFAIK, my cars now all have heaters, but I must admit I've never really tried to turn one of them on....
  10. I can feel your pain Bro!! As I'm sitting at my desk with the back door open, here in Ft Myers Fl., it's 77f at 10:30AM, and the sun has just gone behind a cloud!!!...OH the HORRORS!!!!! Actually, It's been unseasonably hot her for the past week with highs in the mid to upper 80's, but we've got a cold front coming through that'll drop that to the LOWER 80's!!!.... But...If I want to see a Polar Bear, or a Walrus, I have to drive all the way up to Disneyworld...BUMMER!!!
  11. I checked with my friend on another forum who lives there, and is firmly entrenched in the watch industry, and he told be that the "BK" stall is safely located on the third floor!!
  12. One could only imagine how rapidly those 2 great merchants must be spinning in their graves, knowing how their legacy has been flushed into the crapper by the current management there!! Wifey and I stood for @ 10 minutes last week in the appliance section, looking for a particular model floor steamer, and I actually had to finally almost physically assault one of the many sales people that just casually walked by us, to ask for info!!! And when I asked her about the particular device that Sears was PROMOTING on their web site, she looked at me as if I was from Mars...She had never even HEARD about the EXISTENCE of the model!!!...IN HER DEPARTMENT!!!!!! As a former "JJ Newberrys" asst manager (back in the '60's), I was totally appalled at her lack of product knowledge, and customer skills!!
  13. Bottom line: Once the deal is made, and $$'s change hands is NOT the time to "reconsider" a deal!!.....IMNSFHO, it was incumbent upon this seller to fulfill his part of the bargain, and ship the goods as agreed!! Buyers OR sellers "remorse" have no standing once a "deal" is agreed to... I for one would like to know the name of this seller, to avoid ever doing business with him in the future.... One of the burdens that come with the privilege of participating of these fora is to adhere to the rules of fairness regarding trading and selling. The buyer has been deprived of the use of his OWN money for an unspecified period by the unreasonable actions of the seller, and that's just plain wrong!!! Just my opinion, but I've bought and sold a LOT of watches over the past 20 years!!!
  14. A word of advice for anyone interested in getting into the replica watch building business: FUGGEDDABOUDIT!!!
  15. A lot of "necroposts" have links that are no longer valid......I suspect that attempting to open one automatically redirects to the OP's info page instead...
  16. One might even think that the Panny factory was simply applying a little wry humor here......After all....They were selling you ..... "The Brooklyn Bridge"!!!... ;)
  17. I bought a whole fully functioning 212 for a little more than 1/2 the price of that crystal!!.....sheesh!! granted, it's the "old" model with the wrong sec markers, and the lo-beat 7750, but it's in almost mint condition....with an intact crystal!!..;-)
  18. Yeah...and it's open mike night for trolling shills....Step right up!!!
  19. Do you...???......Friend of yours..???
  20. Ok...Who's anal enough to count them, ID the models, and calculate their worth ...????....NOT me!!!!!!
  21. The whole Panerai scheme of things is the "retro" look...virtually all of their watches are variations on stuff first produced 50+ years ago...Only recently, have they even attempted to get "original" in the movement area... Personally, I like these styles, and am grateful that there are replicas available that I can easily afford, but there's no way in hell I'd spend more than $500.00 to own a genuine one !! Watches are simply costume jewelry to me, and variety is indeed the "spice of life" in that genre... Since their primary clientele consists of folks with virtually unlimited funds, they are simply "playing to their audience" by supplying a variety of product, albeit themed on a somewhat tired theme... My meager collection of Pam reps consists of as much variety as I can muster, with different metals, movements, sizes, and dial layouts. My shelf now houses a 217, 036,212,192, 082, 090 in SS and PVD,and 22mm rose gold rad chrono fantasy. With the exception of a GMT model, I have pretty much completed my collection
  22. Here's the legendary Omega CC-Axial: http://www.cqm.cc/tmp/DSC07514.JPG For sale NOW on another rep site!!
  23. The first one is the "old school" model, with the lo-beat movement, and the second marks going the wrong way...I'm wearing one just like it as I type this! The other 2 appear to be the latest version, with different straps with the newer hi-beat movement, and the second markers properly oriented....By far a better choice for a 212. The reason I'm settling for the older model is that I found a very nice used one for $85.00 recently....And I'm a cheap bastard!! And BTW...I suspect that the first listing is a "knock off" site of Josh, not an authentic "perfect Clones" listing...Steer clear!!
