  1. Not much interest here for stuff like that...
  2. Are these available as uncased watch movements..???
  3. You'd better hope it don't end up in Coventry R.I, in the US!!!.....I have a cousin who works at that PO, and he's always on the lookout for reps from China!!
  4. An interesting "necropost" for the folks who haven't been around long enough to experience "Klinkdom"... ;)
  5. "Back in the day"....A Solid gold Rolex prez was a sure thing pussy magnet......But....most of the highly magnetic pussy was extremely low grade... .One would suspect that the species hasn't evolved a whole lot since... :pimp:
  6. You should buy a Ploprof!!...It weighs over 1/2 pound on mesh!!
  7. Did anybody else notice how the canon pinion is recessed on that Panny..???...LOL...and we get all "jiggy" about our reps!!!
  8. Some of Roberts wisdom: http://www.replica-watch.info/vb/showthread.php/little-insight-how-all-works-69677.html
  9. I just learned from RG that Robert has passed ....Nembo has a post over at RG explaining the situation.
  10. Great tip hp_V6...!! .I'll bookmark it for the day when my BP tube craps out...as I'm sure it eventually will!!....... -
  11. I've been having to listen to my wife bitching because it's been too warm around here this winter.....It's been low 80's daily, with high 60's night time lows...We moved to Florida 26 years ago from New England, and my wife can only remember how "nice" snow was...SHE didn't have to shovel it, or try to drive to work on I-95 in a driving blizzard..... I can't shut her up!!! How about it Nanuq.....Can I ship her ass up there for a month or so...???
  12. WOW!!!....Haven't heard that asked in a few years!!!
  13. I bought most of mine from fellow collectors, in CONUS, on these boards.. I shudder at the thought of shipping anything halfway around the world, past several sets of customs officials, through the hands of postal employees in 3rd world countries!!.... Especially when lt's something I can't [censored] to the authorities about if it goes astray!!! :pimp:
  14. As I stated elsewhere......This is just a vivid illustration as to how "rep ignorant" the other 99.99% of the population is!!.....The vast majority of them are absolutely certain that if a Rolex doesn't tick once per second, it's real..!! And yet we get all "jiggy" about silly stuff like rehaut,(WTF is THAT...???), and the number of flutes on a watch crown, or the letter A with a cross bar too low.......Ain't WE "quaint".....
  15. Blue pigmented dyes are traditionally the least resistant to fading from exposure to direct sun light.......They are also very sensitive to atmospheric ozone fading, but in a sealed watch environment that shouldn't be a factor....
  16. Spare...??? I've owned maybe 100+ various reps, and have never even seen one in person!!!
  17. Narikaa is a good guy, and he ships from the UK...He can usually get whatever watches you want (within reason!!) for excellent prices...His reputation is as good or better than any other dealer I've heard of in @ 6 yrs on these rep fora.
  18. Narikaa's is much nicer...And...he won't gouge you $80.00 for shipping!!! :clap2:
  19. The Panny 212 has a nice domed crystal, but it isn't sapphire unfortunately...
  20. During my "build a brewery" days in Key West during the mid '90's, I spent a lot of time in their original headquarters building, just off Duval st. It contained at that time, a "brewpub" named "Kelly's"...owned by Kelly McGillis of "Top Gun" fame....I guess it still does, but I haven't been to Key West in over 10 yrs now...
  21. Not to mention that they claim a SWISS movement....Yeah right!!! Silix, like almost all of our far eastern brethren, subscribes to the classic Chinese adage..."let the buyer beware" It's in their genes.... And BTW...I'm NOT a racist!!!...Some of my best friends eat chop suey!!!...;-)...;-)
  22. Sounds like a classic case of "A7750-itis" These movements are often sold in atrocious condition, unoiled, and filthy... requiring immediate servicing in order to run properly.... IMNSFHO, a new watch should be able to function properly without needing to be serviced for at least a year or more...Rep or Gen!!! The common reply on the rep fora has been, :" once you get it serviced, it'll run fine" I call BS on that!!!...Why should we have to spend $150.00+ to get a NEW watch running right...??? I have bought DOZENS of cheap A21j watches over the years, and have never had a problem with one within the first year of ownership....Why should we accept "junk" in our 7750 purchases...??? As long as we continue to accept this [censored], the dealers will continue to dish it out!!!
