TAG Heuer does not get the credit that they deserve!

The Seagull ST-19 chrono movement, which is a copy of a Venus 175, and often erroneously referred to as a "Lemania" is widely used in replica watches...I have owned @ a dozen of them over the years....I currently have 2 IIRC,,A Pam 192, and a Panny 42MM Rad in rose gold... The movement is built in China, using a lot of the original tooling from the old Venus factory, that was originally sold to the Russians, and then to the Chinese, to power the Chinese pilots chrono from the 1960's

Whoever first quoted the 'fool and his money' proverb must have known that Ebay would eventually evolve!!

He seemed to have disappeared a couple of years ago, after being a very active core group poster here, for quite a while...

WTF is the "Z factory"...??? My guess is somebody's basement in Gz....

Steelfish V2 seconds hand and gen pics - should I buy it?

Remarkably good reps of this watch have been around for at least 5 years now!....At one time Asian movement models could be had for under $100 at a lot of sources... I still have a blue dial model that finds its way into my rotation every couple of months...The fact that it has an Asian movement, and no discernable A/R doesn't bother me at all... -

He's "risen" over on the other RWG....Gran hangs out there sometimes too...

Not familiar with that brand, but given the obvious abuse it has suffered, and the rough finish of the case, one can assume that it wasn't a highly prized possession by it's former owner... The case shape is indicative of a mid '60's to '70's production date.... It looks like It was "ate by wolves and shat off a cliff"...To quote an old friend of mine!!

Is it possible to recover from Watch Addiction?

After about 10 years, I have found that I eventually got to the point where , even though I still wear reps every day, I have almost no uncontrollable compulsion to obtain any more of them... Once I got over the fact that my 217 canon pinion was too short, my 036 dial said L SWISS L instead of T SWISS T, and my Omega "UPO" had happy feet, and over a long period of time NOBODY but me even noticed these dreadful flaws, I realized that they are just costume jewelry and certainly not worthy of any sort of obsession....... But then i've still got the "Red Sox" !!!!!! -
I remember his "greeting" letter....IIRC, it guided me towards some very helpful moves during my rep "formative" years...And I'm delighted to see him rise once again, like a "Phoenix from the ashes" to once again entertain...... and confuse the "doo..doo" out of us!!

What are the chances that the TRC archives will reemerge as a "read only" forum once again...??? I really used to enjoy "necrosurfing" over there...Especially the classic TTK stuff!! -
Ask John G...LOL!!!

According to folks over on RWGCC, he's still alive and kicking(one leg anyhow!!) over in "Girlie-boy Land"....There has been some conjecture that he has a "sock" identity, but I have seen no irrefutable evidence to date... It certainly would be "in character" for him to be busting "cajones" for amusement...

I have used common glue stick goo, applied with a toothpick to the back to hold wayward dial parts...It's a lot easier to handle than most runny liquid stuff, and more than amply adhesive for dial applications...I did the 2 and 6 on this guy @ a year ago:

Why would you buy a gen watch that has been almost perfectly repped, like a SOSF..?? If you really feel the need to own an overpriced piece of costume jewelry, at least select something that hasn't been replicated in the millions...

Are these the same watch? You be the judge !

95% of all the reps I have bought over the past 10 years have been without the luxury of QC pics.....A waste of time and effort IMNSFHO!! -

"Remember how great sports cars used to corner..??" Morgans still do !!! That was the advertising slogan Morgan was using back in '66 when I bought this '63 4/4 model... Over the years I have owned maybe a dozen or so "Sports" cars, From Porsche to Jaguar, Healey, MG, Triumph, Cortina, and even a couple of Camaro Z's, but nothing compared to my Morgan...

one of the scariest phrases in all of repdom: Group buy....Just saying...

Among whom...??? The VAST majority think that "Panerai" is just a misspelling of a popular restaurant's name.... Over the past 10-12 years, i have seen exactly one other person wearing one here in SW Florida...He was a doctor at the local hospital, and when I asked him what model it was he replied: "A 44mm one"...(It was an 024 IIRC!!)...
