  1. I thought gen dial was too small for Josh case?
  2. Ok, I'm struggling with finding the 5513's etc on Joshs site. Could someone send me a link to the best one to mod into a Tudor sub. I found the 1680 that's still at 98. Thanks in advance. Matt
  3. So who is bk? What can he do and how much does it cost?
  4. Oh I know that feeling, if you have a gen dial and crystal already then it's worth getting someone put it together for you. May want to think about a hands relime to match gen dial? As for modders, well my experience is; there's always a wait. Sent my 5513 to domi back in august and the wait has gone from killing me, to indifference, to excitement, back to a slow painful ache! It's the worst part of the mid process. I wish I'd done it myself, but I know id mess it up!
  5. Can anyone give me a pointer on the best smp bond blue rep out there at the moment. I'm after one with a decent crystal that will accept gen bezel and dial? Wish I still had my closed factory.....
  6. Try tom highway, but domenico in Germany is great. Nice sub.
  7. For a split second My filthy mind read that as: " you can slip your package in my brown one"
  8. Im looking at crystals for my mbw 5513, there are 2 tropic 19 replacements on cousins, a 303mm and a 305mm any idea which one I will need? Thanks in advance!
  9. By case sizes, I mean the automatics and quartz cases. Regardless of colour. I can only find replacement cases for the automatic seamasters. I could build a black quartz from my old case if I could get hold of a quartz case, the eta 255 movements are dirt cheap!
  10. Yeah I considered the black but I'm led to believe the case sizes are different. So I'll probably just try to source a new blue bezel for my Smp to freshen it up and start looking for another watch.....maybe if I could find a decent rep Smp I could use my gen bezel on.
  11. Waiting on Domenico putting together my 5513, pre modded mbw case (thanks Steve) gen dial, aftermarket bezel insert, crystal and 2846 slow beat movement.
  12. I agree, but I was planning to do it in conjunction with refurbishing my 2541. At which point I was just making use of the old case.
  13. Ah so quartz is case ref 196.1503. Every other part fits both cases such as bezel etc. Not worth the risk though. I'll just look for a new bezel for my Smp and try find a decent rep that accepts gen dial and bezel if there is such a rep?
  14. I believe they are the same case ref 168.1623, I'll have to check.
  15. Finished product will look like this: But with my tatty old case of course!
  16. So I was looking into a new case for my Smp quartz, then using the old case as a base for a 007 limited edition mod project. The new cases come complete with crystal, crowns, bezels and gaskets. So all I will need is an eta 2824, gen hands and a dial, preferably a 007 dial but would settle for the original 2531 dial? So for an approximate cost of £650 I will have a brand new looking Smp quartz and a pretty darn good franken with everything gen except movement. What are your thoughts on this project. Thanks.
  17. It's a good question, any blue Smp out there with accurate crystal that will accept gen dial and bezel?
  18. I'm trying to get hold of a decent 93150 rep bracelet. Any ideas which is the best one out there at the moment with hollow links so it can take gen springbars?
  19. Try looking at gen forums such as TRF or the vintage Rolex Market. Could even post a wtb but obviously dont let on it's for a rep! Theydont like that on gen forums for some reason!
  20. The old lady swimming in the pool must have thought you were taking a snap of her!!! Try explaining the posterity of a wrist shot to an old age pensioner!!
  21. Wow, I see your MBW cases arrived then Steve!!
  22. I've had 2 gen Rolexes and never knew the hands were rounded until I read your post today!
  23. That's what I'm saying, not many people know that much about Rolexes to the extent that the hands are slightly rounded, only experts like yourself. Therefore the chances if actually meeting you or any other expert are relatively slim.
  24. I think that if someone calls my watch out for having flat hands, then fair play! They are obviously not worth lying to! I'd quite happily tell anyone it's a rep rather than pretend it's gen or allow anyone to think I have been foolish enough to pay £3000 for a fake!
