  1. I was looking at Ryakus link. Maybe get that one and source a gen clasp?
  2. Great review. I'm interested in the thickness of the clasp? Is it thicker than the gen?
  3. Yep 4th gen. Still has the best rep he valve.
  4. Awesome. How addictive mods can be. Here's mine with dial, hands, bezel, datewheel, crystal, crown/tube and gen rubber.
  5. Anyone ever tried one of those unbranded aftermarket bracelets?
  6. Awesome. Think bracelet may be my next move. But crystal is best mod I have made without a doubt. Perfect.
  7. Here's mine for today, 4th gen fully frankened Dial, Hands, bezel, crystal, datewheel, crown, tube and rubber.
  8. I'd be tempted to get a gen bezel. I modded one of these several years ago and once I got it in my head about the shade of blue being wrong, I couldn't sleep until I swapped it!!I got a second hand one off the bay. They pop up quite regular these days.
  9. I've done some searching but almost all the shots I've seen of the new 5th gen PO are of the black bezel versions. I'm thinking of getting hold of an orange bezel with DG movement as a cheap beater. Would love some non factory pictures if anyone has one to show off?
  10. Domi has just finished installing the gen crystal on my 4th gen. He said the gen gasket didn't fit so he used the gasket already in the watch and it's fine.
  11. Omega only sell the full bezel assembly. Can't buy gen inserts.
  12. Yep I'm going with a gen too. Do you have the warranty card or chronometer card, the serial number should match the one on the 7 o clock lug.
  13. The old pearl can just be flicked off with a knife it's only glued on lightly. Look at this link for advice. I've done 2 myself but it's painstaking work be warned! http://repgeek.com/showthread.php?t=29882
  14. It's hard to tell. I know that the full bezel assembly doesn't fit the upo. So my guess if it is gen us that it's just a gen insert (thats had work done to make it fit) or a pearl. What's the story?
  15. The rep crown will not work with a rep tube, it's to do with the thread.
  16. Appears gen but a good franken also looks pretty gen believe it or not! If it's something you are buying then you obviously have doubts, I'd research your seller it look elsewhere.
  17. Mine is a gen eta. Not the clone. It's now with Domi getting datewheel and gen crystal installed too! Can't wait to get it back.
  18. Very very unusual for a gen tube to shred. I'd have your watchmaker check it out.
  19. Very nice. Good lighting for tour photos too, making the dial look very crisp. Nice one.
  20. I too was tempted by Ubis original. I struggled for so long to get hold of a 4th gen PO. I had to settle with 2 fully modded UPO's which I ended up flipping as they were just too big. I'm very happy with the size if my 42mm PO. upon it's return it will see a lot of wrist time I expect! Do you know if the caseback on the new 42 po's fit on the 4th gen po's?? I think they appear to be slightly more accurate.
  21. Well thanks Db2! That picture has cost me a fortune! I got myself a gen crystal and datewheel. i decided to send the watch off to Domi today for the final work being done to make sure its perfect. It will hopefully come back with gen dial, hands, datewheel, crystal, bezel, crown and tube and be worn for now on the gen rubber! Its a very addictive hobby, but all said its still only going to be a fraction of the price of a gen at £2380. Ill post some pics when it returns, just have to deal with a long wait now.
  22. Have a gen darewheel but it's not installed. I think I'll wait for a service perhaps before I mod it. I have a gen eta movement so actually mine isn't too bad compared to the clone eta datwheels either.
  23. Starman, what were your thoughts on doing the datewheel mod with a gen eta 2892? I didn't do mine as I did the mods myself and it's quite tricky to do. But it is a much brighter White font than that on the eta 2824 movements.
  24. Crown - definately need the tube too as they don't match the rep thread. Worthwhile rep not just aesthetically as crown stripping us all too common on reps. He valve - what's the issue with the new 42mm PO rep valves? I have a 4th gen and it's the last thing on my mod list and I don't think I'll bother changing it. Crystal - I think this makes a massive difference especially if you have gen dial, it finishes the look in real quality and style. My next mid, although I'm sad the new gen AR doesn't have the old blue/ purple hue to the same degree as the early pre 2010 models. What a great base for mods the planet oceans have been. Bravo.
