  1. Just skeletons for the weekend,,,and maybe the rollie for sunday...
  2. I went for blue,,,but was difficult, I also want white......and black would be good too.
  3. Well, I should know soon, I'll post some pictures to see what others think.
  4. Probably best to ask silix (aka, Jay, I believe). He has been really good as far as communication back and forth via email.
  5. Not on his site yet, but ordered awhile ago, so he has or had at least one.
  6. While the ETA vs. Asian has been compared, I don't know if anyone specifically has the ETA from Silix (which should be arriving soon, so will post pics). In all likelihood, it is the same ETA version everyone else has, but it will be nice to confirm. Blue dial could be here today
  7. I agree with you about Oris and Sinn, but I'm not sure too many Anonimo's are around 2,000. They have only one model I know of called "three glasses" that is kind of small and not that interesting (IMO). I should look this up, but I think most of there typical models are between 3-5,000 (USD).
  8. Same old story, buy Invicta skeleton on impulse since it looked really nice, gets here and case is POS, so stick it in old pam case.
  9. I never even considered diamonds,,,guess this feels flashy for me. Something to think about, maybe I could go for some small diamond markers on the dial....
  10. This is pam111's (aka paul) ultimate sub on a watchadoo. These bracelets are such a great buy and put a bit more bling than the standard one which I was going to work on but then decided to try this, and now pretty sure this will stay.
  11. always enjoy pictures of this one. I've bought and sold this more times than any other watch. I actually think I've had four or five of them.
  12. Funny story,,, I always use watches as a working out motivator. I'll get this or that watch when I make whatever my next goal is. I have a great gen in mind if I can finish my next goal. As far as the gym goes, I'm still young enough to notice the attractive women working out but too old and married to think I would ever be noticed back...
  13. Forgot to set the date,,,,
  14. Looks like a great deal,,,a toubillon is so cool to just look at, it would make the perfect "meeting watch" as in, something to look at during boring meetings.
  15. Looks great,,,,if I get another fiddy it will be from DSN,,,,but I have a strange relationship with the fiddy (a long story). Anyway,,,looking forward to more pics...
  16. Interesting,,,,I mean, you have to redo the hands,,,but I might do that on mine since I actually wear it on the right hand.
  17. I remember this idea, I'm sure that would work also but these o-rings are very cheap. This one looks like a 1 or 2mm. Once I get the size right, I'll order 100 or so.
  18. This has turned out to be a major obstacle for me. Actually, putting the hands on a skeleton movement is similar to any other movement except there are no markers and if a hand slips it could literally get stuck in the balance wheel, but at least on the 6497/8 it is pretty typical. So, what is the problem? There is a small gap between the hour wheel/hour hand and minute hand, so if the watch is turned over, the hour wheel falls a bit and can change positions. Usually, the dial stops this from happening, but without a dial, it is a serious problem. One of my favorite projects was a hand skeletonized 6497 http://www.paneristi.com/archives/uglyduckling/ . From the pictures everything looks great but this guy ended up having the same problem. His solution was to create a hand extending from the keyless works to hold down the hour wheel. While this guy is very talented, I didn
  19. Well,,,as a real AR freak I have the blue dial eta with AR on the way, however, I must admit that the very cheap Asian version (i.e., the two used on sale) seems very attractive, I almost bought one in fact....
  20. Photoband,,,again,,,great work on this project. I'm curious if you know how your watchmaker dealt with putting on the hands? The issue I've worked for a LONG time was how to make sure the hour wheel would stay down if the watch were turned upside down. Recently after taking apart an Asian skeleton I discovered that at least some of these use a small o-ring on the cannon pinion, it sits practically on top of the min hand. This really works great as I used this on my version of the El Skawronek, I
  21. How did you do that? I mean, it looks too good to be done by hand. Did you lay the top of a sandwich dial on top and then paint it?
  22. That 111H is definately a rep....back engraving is off, crown is way off.
  23. I didn't care for the rubber strap... I can't believe I forgot to take the plastic off the bezel,,,,,LOL again!
  24. Thanks for all the really helpful advice; I keep hearing that echoing voice, like Chuck Norris getting ready to enter the octagon to fight his brother, but I hear
