  1. very nice...
  2. Oh no,,,they have been very cool. I just wanted a different sample, i.e., I would like the full spectrum of watch enthusiasts. I would like all those that spend from a 100 (usd) to 100,000. I’m trying to get at what it is about watches that fascinates us, independent of money.
  3. So far, I've posted this request on "the big watch forum" and "viapaneristi" and of course, here at RWG. If anyone has any suggestions of other forums I could make this request at, please let me know. Thanks. chris,
  4. Sure,,,here is the link to the results of the original study. I also have all the specific statistical results (ex. probability values from various statistical tests) available on request. http://srufaculty.sru.edu/christopher.niebauer/results.pdf
  5. Thanks to the many of you that already took the survey (ok, an obvious bump but I am sincerely thankful for your time).
  6. It seems like the last available are gone. I'm totally upset I missed it, I swear the night I sat down to order was the same night they were no longer available. U can always get them used, but I might wait for the next production since the new price is usually cheaper than used. Anyway, I've been in that position myself, mm20 or a fiddy? I ended up with two fiddy's and sold them. IMO, the size of the markers is too small on the fiddy. I guess I ended up buying two of davidsen's mm20s. Now with the better lum, this will be pretty close to an rxw.
  7. Absolutely, I will provide a detailed explanation of all data, findings and conclusions. Thanks for your interest in the project (No promises on how I’ll work in that episode of star trek)
  8. I know some of this seems really strange. I'll do my best to explain the ideas behind this study shorty. However, there are specific hypotheses being tested. Thanks again.
  9. Unfortunately, Slippery Rock isn't near much of anything and the name is very literal, there are some slippery rocks near the campus. Many thanks to those that have participated so far, thanks for your time and comments. And again, my thanks to those that run RWG.
  10. I am an experimental psychologist and am currently conducting a study on the mind of the watch enthusiast. In this study, you will be asked several questions concerning your preference for watches and your opinions on several topics. Your participation is completely anonymous. While general comments are welcome, I would ask that you hold off on comments that might bias those that have not participated. When this project is completed, I will post a link where you may read the results. This study has been approved by the research ethics committee at Slippery Rock University where I am a psychology professor. My sincere thanks for your time and to the forum for allowing me to post this. To participate in an online questionnaire, please go to http://freeonlinesurveys.com/start.asp?sid...qo606lyhq204909 thanks, chris, NOTE: Please only selection responses with words next to them. For a few questions, there are responses without any text, please do not choose these. Thanks.
  11. I've had this thing on the table the most of any of my reps. I thought I would not just change the color but change the style of the hands. Also, this has davidsen's crown replacement which is very nice.
  12. Of all the reps out there, this one has to the one with the best and worst said about it. I've read so many posts like this but still ordered one on sunday after a few drinks. I guess I'll just have to hope I'm lucky and get a good bezel.
  13. Today,,,,,just big and simple
  14. Something to look forward to...
  15. Very nice,,,,,,thanks. I might try that with my mm20 from davidsen.
  16. interesting,,,,,,,please post one here I would like to see it.
  17. The dial looks great, overall a very nice project. There is something about the hands that I'm not into, however, very nice overall...
  18. I think there has been less restrictions on these lately. I've seen several "international watchman" panerai like watches and once you are ok with that, these types of watches are just a small step away. This is a pretty bad rep, I would say it could get about 100 (usd) here. However, the dial looks pretty good.
  19. My guess is that the Asian version is just a bit thinner than the swiss versions but I do not have the tools to properly measure this. In changing several movements, I would say there is at least 1mm difference.
  20. I can't say the same for "barnyard" (no pams anywhere),,,,,,,,zoom is def on the list.
  21. Looks fine,,,,,,,just close the crown guard all the way.
  22. Sport: Schaumburg aquamatic Dress: Any vintage pam I don't like the idea of a beater, I like to wear and beat on all my watches.
  23. Probably have my 201a from Davidsen on most of the weekend. However, I've got the 249, on my mind
  24. I admit I got my first few FM reps from Walter. He actually is a good guy, returns emails and shows pictures of the watches you will buy. He even did a return once. His only problem is that his watches are about three times too much. It could have been much worse.
  25. Well, that does suck, but isn't it just a matter of getting some new hands? Here is my list of things I've destroyed with this habit. dials, hands various parts of movements like the keyless works or balance wheel. crowns case tubes and that is just a list that comes to mind. so far, I don't think I totally messed up a crystal yet.
