  1. Davidsen's mm20 for most of the week,,,,
  2. Thanks again Thom for putting this all together. It was a very good meeting, nice watches and great conversations. I'm looking forward to the next one.
  3. I agree, time for some pics. I really like Davidsen's crowns, very close to gens.
  4. Thanks, those pics are new to me. Very nice...
  5. That is a great point, I have a swiss made tool and the tips are metal and very sharp, I guess it would costs more to smooth these out. However, I remember the screwdriver on my gen pam, that thing was as sharp as a knife like they wanted you to scratch the case, and those screwdrivers are pretty expensive so I don't get it.
  6. I'm in for a Ti one. If it counts, I also had one of the last ones.
  7. I totally agree,,,,great quality, great prices and offers many things you simply can't get anywhere else. I should have my mm20 in a few days and if I had the extra cash I would be all over the new 201a.
  8. The 1938a is a great watch, nice choice. It has a nice thick crystal on it. I had one but sold it for some silly reason, enjoy.......
  9. This watch looks very close to gen to me........man,,,,,,,,bad time to be low on cash.
  10. Here is the link,,, http://equationoftime.com/EOTGARY.html actually, I guess it isn't too bad, just seems there are people here at least this funny.
  11. iW isn't my favorite watch mag, but I end up reading it semi regularly. Is the "Gary" comic strip supposed to be funny? They seem to be without any humor or even amusing quality. I was just curious if it was just me.....
  12. Very impressive, looks great. That will be one of those watches you take off 100 times a day just to check out the movement.
  13. Looks great...Is that the movement with the longer cannon pinion?
  14. That is so interesting in terms of movements. I've attempted to replace several of the russian movements in pams with 6497s but found the 6497 to be a bit too thick. If you look at the movement clamps on the pics, you can tell the movement is too thick here also. Anyway, I'm not complaining, that is a great buy for under 200.
  15. I'm waiting to see this also. I think davidsen has great dials, this should turn out very nice.
  16. Very nice,,,,,,,,from the strap to movement. nice work.
  17. That is the ONLY turn off to the mm20,,,,,,,why the recessed pin? when I get mine I will have to fix this..
  18. I had this on all weekend, no idea which pam it really is, mostly davidsen parts. Not a real pam but I like it.
  19. I've followed the mm20 for a while, (it is on my list). I am pretty sure that the first few had mineral while the those following had sapphire. enjoy,,,,,,wish I was buying my mm20.
  20. I like the Chopard dial as is. Isn't it funny that while some clean the dials others try to find ways to make theirs look aged?
  21. At least they state it is a rep,,,,,otherwise I would have confused.......
  22. the size thing is the only reason I don't have one...If I see a 48 or better yet a 55,,I would take it in a second as long as it had an eta movement.
  23. I’ve read almost all the posts to this topic and two things emerge. First, everyone has his or her opinion and it is unlikely that anyone will change this in response to another persons post. Second, this topic had the potential to get very nasty and emotional but generally didn’t. In spite of the nature of the topic and two sides to the debate, it is impressive how respectful and decent people have been. That is why I spend so much time here,,,,,,and get so little work done…
  24. I don't have a picture but it was a special edition in 2000, a pam 077 radiomir tourbillon. That thing is simply ugly..............its a good thing they only made two of them.
  25. For what it is worth, it doesn't bother me. One of the reasons I spend so much time here is because of a general sense of openness. Several of the gen forums have turned me off because they have a small "in group" and lots of rules (IMO). I guess this is just a preference issue, but I would rather have fewer rules and risk some being offended. Also, since I'm a college professor I deal with these issue all the time with my lectures. When you deal with lots of people, it starts to become almost impossible not to offend someone, sometimes. You would not believe the long list of things one cannot say in the classroom because it might offend someone. The end result is that is things become pretty boring, just like many of the gen forums.
