  1. Nanuq - I know you're a little out of touch up there, but exhuming an 11-month old thread is a little extreme!!!! I thought he'd returned from the dead for a moment!!!! Ah, FlippedLidBonkers, how we miss him
  2. An amazingly rough estimate, but I think you're looking at close to HALF A MILLION $USD for that little lot (approx. 40 lots)
  3. No worries wasn't posted HERE before just saw it on TZ not long ago. Ach you caught me pre-editing my post there It really is mesmerizing to see I just had to keep looking and rechecking my facts!
  4. Seen that a little while ago....still amazing though! Like Tanfo but with gens Almost every sports model represented there except strangely no Explorer II or Milgauss Check out that ROW of SIX red 1680s in the middle - notice three of them have no-cyclops tropics on them. But for me the most jaw-dropping is probably that gilt-dialled Bond with Brevet 8mm crown - second row third from left next to the DRSD - even if it has got a wrong insert on there. If I had to pick though I'd probably go for that 6542 GMT at the centre bottom, just for aesthetic reasons
  5. Back on topic then, sheesh A nice 'vintagized' (and interesting) GMTII
  6. And we have a winner! Yes, the ceramic-bezelled 116710 GMTII does indeed have a single-layer of AR coating applied to the underside of the cyclops Also had it confirmed by a good friend (and AD) of mine last night... A sign of things to come maybe with the new Sub and SD (using the new case on the GMT) likely to be announced at Basel 2008? Fingers crossed....
  7. Keep telling yourself that Mr Japester.....tell you one thing though, you can keep your beloved 'oosik' collection you have there, euuwwwww
  8. OK well I've been as subtle as an Australian sledgehammer, and no-one's biting so I'll spill - that answer is TRUE!!! There IS a current production Rolex watch that has a factory spec that includes an AR coating applied to the crystal. Anyone know what it is?
  9. I saw this on TZ yesterday and only made the link with Angus' listing (and pics ) today I noticed the TZ scam merchant got shot down very quickly with someone posting "don't buy for $800! aftermarkets cheaper elsewhere". Since PT is selling at $300, this ***** was looking to clear $500 a time - probably would from some of the HBB-owning TZ lobotomised snoots
  10. It's ok, I put yours and Euno's love of Jubilee down to the I part of WIS
  11. Not that such a thing wouldn't surprise me, but I have some good intell that LTZ's Corty project is still indeed incarcerated in London, and may well be released from it's POW camp very soon. Words have been forwarded on. With a little polite duress for good measure of course
  12. No. If you do some basic searching, you'll discover there are two services, one in US, one in EU.
  13. Wasn't me!!! As Vic said, neither my style or my MO Shame as I was rather looking forward to seeing this one run and run all season-long.
  14. Very 'South Park' Perhaps Nanuq can confirm the technique is indeed used?
  15. Hmm, a 16750 gloss dial. Nice, but matte is so much more beautiful.
  16. A few more guesses/thoughts please....
  17. Rolex manufacture + Sapphire crystal + AR coating applied. True or False?
  18. Talking of our Alaskan prankster, it seems he's 'fessed up that in fact there is NOTHING wrong with the dial on the 1675 I have dibs on Oh you jolly japer you and of course, no hard feelings...... (*furiously checking family tree and historical records to prove great-great-great-great-great-great-grandfather - Russian - still has colonial rights over Alaska and as a direct descendant can therefore legally lay claim to that DRSD and Bond Sub.....pffff, he can keep the GMT....mwahahaha*)
  19. Here's a much better pic of it - I can actually look at it now without flinching Mmmm, what date is it? Early enough or not, you've just gotta love that 'small' hand Nanuq should really get one (MY) for his, plus pop a gilt dial in there also.
  20. Take it up with your dealer maybe? Not knowing what you ordered of course, but apart from it being in a type of Sub case (huge CG space meant to be filled by a thick triplock not teeny twinlock crown), it doesn't look too bad.
  21. Ha! I wish! No no, think 'polar bear', think 'salmon', think 'overgrown Boy Scout'
