  1. I'd yank the plug.....*beeeeeeeeeeeeeeep*. Without a second thought. Sometimes enough is just enough. Jakub's superlative service means there's no longer any real need to persist with the wild goose chases, headaches and frustration you've experienced here but thanks for trying anyway, appreciated by all I'm sure.
  2. Probably just been in an ultrasonic cleaner. The c.550 wasn't that common in the no-date 300s (usually the c.552) but I've seen a few over here with it in. I think it's legit, Nanuq.
  3. Don't worry, this is gorgeously "undiddled" with - a superb example. Hmmmm
  4. Whoah there. The quote was not aimed at you per se, so no need to be so defensive. It's more about speaking by actions (custom cuffs, the Agnelli look etc.) and what those actions say to others. I'm being perfectly civil, I just have an erstwhile inability to suffer foolish and condescending talk gladly - we all have our thresholds so you can put your foot down all you like Consider this, some things may come across as cultured and all-knowing with some your adopted countrymen who may not know any better, but you forget or neglect to realise that there are also those out there who, like the unbuttoned cuff, see right through the image projected. I'll leave on a final agreement though - I'll gladly move on from this type of drivel and won't post any more responses.
  5. Like those tossers who unbutton the cuffs on their suit jackets to tell everyone they're bespoke, it fails miserably when worn in company who see you for what you really are - a wannabe, a charlatan, a fake. And I'm not talking about class here - that word has much more relevant meaning than in mere terms of social status/income. Mayfair circles? White's? Boodles? You're a little out of touch VB. By about 20 years!!! I'll say it once again, don't ever assume you know what 'circles' people here 'move in' (even the expression is an affectation) - you have NO idea you really don't. A last word then before I disappear (for quite a while).....a famous quote in fact....it's better to say nothing and appear stupid, than the open your mouth and remove all doubt.
  6. Yes and that only reinforces my view of those types.
  7. Sorry flame away if you want but I find this whole 'issue' ridiculous and the worst kind of affectation. Thank god I live in a society and and within a peer group that would just rip the [censored] out of anyone even attempting to show off in this way. If you're really thinking like this (i.e. the exact placement of your watch on your wrist, custom tailoring cuffs to highlight specific watches; etc.), then you really need to get out more. Innie or outie? May as well be talking about your navels, you know, the same ones you're gazing away at down there...
  8. Great pics - worth more than a thousand words in this case
  9. *UPDATE* So, a whole EIGHT days after I actually see this white elephant shoved at the back of a window display, the TH/LVMH marketing boys finally get their act together and decide to email me (on their 'preview' list) with details... Bit late boys but I still wouldn't touch it with the proverbial 10' bargepole
  10. Nice sunny pics Strange that I've never seen the 'sights' even though I've been many times for work....just Tegel, back of Mercedes, usually Inter-Conti, and Tegel again. Nearest I get is hearing the sounds coming from the zoo next door at 4am
  11. Someone using AF on their camera perhaps? More foreground, less background next time. Oh and please don't start calling this new SD "1:1" - it's not true and you're only perpetuating the myth spun by some of the dealers.
  12. As Kruz says, it's a plate covering the transfer gears that modify the standard 7750 '12' register to the '3' position. Not quite true re. fix though, it just involves removing said transfer gearing (crippling your chrono in the process of course), removing an intermediate spacer, and you can get the DW nearer the dial. Still not perfect though.
  13. That was fast! I reported it and *pooof* adios "REMOVED"
  14. Well if it's a 2004/5 model (i.e. advertised as F-series) you just need to ask seller the lughole question to be certain Earlier you're fine, 2005 onwards you know you not. Easy.
  15. All I know is 'F-series' - obviously varies exactly what year you got one (bought or manufactured?) without holes, Tribal is right officially 2004 but not aware of earlier examples. Stephane, why do you ask anyway? Still on the desperate hunt for a 16600? Personally I prefer my SDs with lugholes.
  16. 270186676550 You know where MBW or Chiang Mai case - check out those CG's and dummy HeV + c.1570 drops in nice and easy + vintage box (yet no papers ) = bingo!
  17. Yep looks very similar to an '82 gen I tried on a few weeks back - only about equivalent of $25,000 Thought that about the booklet too - assuming it's a high res scan hard copy - original 1655 booklets go for big money on fleabay.
  18. Lani, there is nothing 'corrosive' in Cape Cod cloths. If there were, by law (at least here in EU) the packaging would be required to display this symbol... CC doesn't even have the lowest hazardous status of 'Irritant' either....(like OxyClean - p.s. the case is on it's way! ) All it contains from a legal health/safety perspective is a 'Harmful if Swallowed' disclaimer. The rash you got was simply an allergic contact dermatitis from the hydrocarbon distillates contained in those little pink pads, nothing more sinister. That's why they put gloves in the tin, same reason they put gloves in petrol station forecourts in dispensers attached to the pumps - same issue (HC-based) petrol/diesel and skin contact is often a problem. That an antihistamine reduced the welts only confirms there is an immunological component to the skin reaction. You just need to rinse a little more thoroughly next time.
  19. *sigh* and there was I ready to welcome you with open arms thinking it referred to a certain other Glasgow product currently employed at the Theatre of Turds, Salford
  20. Not on the vintage Rolex market it isn't! 25 grand and going upwards TNG - hopefully yes
  21. Did you use an actual broach tool to enlarge the hole or was it a DIY job?
