Hmmm... That might explain your overextended backhand, which will, if not corrected, mean your mixed doubles game with Mrs Deltatahoe will fall apart, and due to your failings, she'll then partner up with Javier the pony-tailed pro at your club, who'll recommend extra 'practice', whilst billing you for the privilege.... You can of course, avoid this unfortunate scenario by selling said offending watch to me

I don't think he's hearing us Freddy, just those 'voices' 1665fan - I know the crease, I'm looking at it right now as Freddy has correctly pointed out. My original point was that the MBW case can be easily modded - Oli/Repaustria has done wonders with the He valve, and there's been lots of attempts to recreate the stamped-look of the gen caseback. Honestly, I'd love to get my mitts on these super-accurate vintage cases as much as you - they do exist just a matter of tracking them down without parting with a couple of grand for the privilege

Strange as it may seem, it is true, part of Omega's new global strategy... As been mentioned, the little guys have been dropped, and even amongst the large high-end chain ADs, they are consolidating distribution to only the flagship stores in an effort to increase the perception of exclusivity and create more of a demand. Hell, it works for Rolex so why not. As for discounts, I find that is a bit of a false indicator especially here in the EU....in my experience with ADs, whether buying a Mercedes or a Panerai or a Rolex (brands which proudly state "no discounts, don't ask"), the price in the window is the RRP and fixed. But then you have the chat, agree the spec, and then and only then when you've almost completed the transaction....you ask to be reminded about the price, almost as an afterthought, and then when told, say nothing.....pause........*tumbleweed rolling*....before the salesman having given a paranoid glance around, takes you aside and in a conspiratorial whisper, mentions that of course, there is some flexibility on price Works every time

Nice although I prefer the 'stealth' blue-lumed models....

Sorry but I really don't get why you want to spend a couple of grand on a case that is "slightly more accurate" than MBW/WM, when for the same money you can buy a reclaimed c.1570 PLUS an MBW 1665, PLUS still have change for some case mods. As you know, the movt will drop straight in without much trouble. Each to their own I guess.....

You're talking about a rep 212 with a 213 dial? Or a faux Rattrapante twin second hand also? Either way, the answer for obvious reasons is a big NO. Technically even the rep 212 is faux as it is not a Flyback movt just a bog standard chrono.

Actually to be pedantic, these are more inhouse promotional videos than actual media-placed ads. There have been several great ones though, the Aquagraph and the V4 Monaco stand out particularly in my mind. The Aquaracer Calibre S vid has been on the Tag site for a couple of years now.....slightly embarrassing for them as literally weeks prior to launch in Jan 2006, and after all the press materials had gone out and promo pieces published, the watch was pulled....and subsequently delayed for 18 months due to major issues with the new movement...almost to the point of it being canned completely. Fortunately some bright spark(s) came up with a fix and voila......only thing to worry about is whether to choose the blue or grey dial.....or the black Link version of course. If you're a yachting type this is the perfect watch...compare it's functional elegance and classic styling with the abomination that is the Rolex Yachtmaster II

As well as 'updating' my incorrect abbreviation of your ID Funny how the brain reads things, not Hoe as in garden tool but Tahoe as in the Lake, right? cheers DBR aka DRB aka BRD aka....ah, who cares anyway p.s. can I have bagseys (first option) if ever you go insane and cast out your Avenger?

Great collection DH with an even better write-up One question....the SC strap on the 217....you say 'gold stitch', assuming that's the same one Drew describes as 'copper' right? Or are we talking a discontinued stitch colours here? Oh and it pains me deeply to see that old version Ti Chrono Avenger, as I've been looking for one for years now without your luck

100% rep and potential scam. Top pic is eeeeuw, not even close. Faults? All the usual suspects...CGs, crown alignment, datefont, dial etc. Bottom pic is clearly different watch - notice the distinguishing scuff/mark on the insert just right of the 30 marker? Sten, why the query? Seller misrepresenting goods?
-
Nice Fred, as you know mine is on its way Will be interesting to see if the gen SMP rubber strap fits better as per my UPO Hey, why is there a smilie but no :doc: ?

Insane collection.... I spy with my little eye though......no 6542, shame on that man
-
Great write-up Kruzer, and admirable you played guinea pig on this long-awaited piece.....look forward to seeing your best hybrid 187 Can't say I'm surprised though - just been too long in the making, whereas we all wanted Ken's case or better along with a 7753 and a better dial (markers and blue '1000'). Just goes to prove the old adage, if something appears too good to be true.....

Well, the good news is at least you'll have no fear of being run over when crossing the road, although it might curtail any nocturnal ninja-style 'operations'....
-
Try actually ordering Trusty's and you'll find out what the difference is (ok, it's a discontinued model, has been for some time now I believe)

Nope, all wrong...

Danielle Lloyd, ex Miss UK wearing a Daytona.

Oh the irony Ubi, if only you knew.... Cheap and tacky. She's wearing it because all she knows is that it's 'a Rolex', an expensive one at that, and it belongs to whatever third-rate footballer she's managing to sink her gold-digging claws into at the moment....another reason to advertise it no doubt. God knows what she thinks she's doing at that event. Apart from the obvious. Now, for some elegance and class....give me Heidi Klum and her Pam any day of the week.... -
Not sure if it's protection and I certainly don't see watches as an investment even my gens - my 1665 is a tool watch and in winter it's usually my daily beater, but it's like I wouldn't drive a vintage Merc 300SL on the supermarket run or to a business meeting....even though in its time, that's what it would've been used for, these days it should be shown a little more TLC and used for more appropriate occasions. A mindset probably instilled by my father who was an antiques dealer.

Nor me....water and vintage, never the twain shall meet. Treat as if gen. PO will be exposed at beach and boating adventures, but any serious underwater activity, well then it's got to be a Seiko Diver (soon to be replaced with an Aquagraph )

saw Oceans 13 tonight, lots of watch spotting

Corruption and malevolent shenanigans by an F1 team intent on rigging the outcome for their own benefit, you say? Surely not......can it really be true????? I suppose though it's no different to my preferred sport as last night's result at the Bernabeu showed (sorry r11co! )

Nope, latest Flash player (9 point-something) for Mac OS X, have approx. 8MB broadband.....oh wait, hold on, now working took a while to buffer that's all Great clip - strange thing is I saw this episode only last week - the stiff was cheating at roulette with the three spike thingie in his shoe - yet I can't believe I missed that scene? Call of nature perhaps

So, you still have that "beauty" eh Ubi?
