A couple of good ones that haven't been mentioned:
Rolex Explorer 1
Omega Speedmaster
IWC F A Jones
And maybe Omega Moon Watch, although that's just from hearing about it.
A lot of good ideas here. I just have one question. One a previous tutorial the bezel was painted in silver paint and you are using flat white. Not having seen the gen, I don't really know which is correct. The picture of the gen really seems more silver than white.
Anybody confirm one or the other?
Welcome from another Floridian. Only thing it's not very sunny here in WPB. Been raining all day and I was supposed to go out boating this afternoon. Oh well.
I hope this will get answered since i just bought one. I understand that you take more than just the rotor off to make it wind like a manual watch. Maybe a couple of the auto winding gears?
Edit: Thank you Freddy. We were both typing at the same time, I believe.
The cases are off eBay from a couple of different sellers. The crystals and hands are from Clarke (Ebay). Movement holders from Stilty, who was an immense help on these. Various movements, buckles and straps and other parts collected over time.
In the over all scheme of things, I'm still a rookie at this. But I'm pretty proud of these and have immensely enjoyed the challenge.
Also I'll say, never again!
Probably!
I also have a gen Oyster bracelet for the 16014. I just put on the rep Prez for a little variety. I think it actually make the watch stand out a little more. I've been amazed at how the white gold bezel and markers sparkle in the sun light.
Two are 2824-2 Eta and one is a 2824-2 clone.
Thanks for the kind words.
Also since nobody else answered, the date at 3 is the only place on the dial of the ETA date wheel that the number would be sitting in the proper position.
At 9, the number would be upside down. At 6 it would be sideways. Etc.
With the proper date wheel overlay, I suppose the date window could be anywhere.
Interesting reading! Especially about Mr. Slimeball.
Does this problem also relate to date wheel overlays or just aftermarket date wheels? It seems if paint thickness is an issue on the date wheel, an overlay shouldn't work at all. Yet they come on most Rolex reps.
I'm a little confused.
Did you notice he says the rubies and diamonds are 100% real. He doesn't mention the dial. It's probably a refinished dial that was not done by Rolex.
Pretty dial though.
As has been said many times: "First you find the dealer, then you find the watch".
The UPO is probably available from any of the trusted dealers on any of the 3 main replica forums.
I got the black on white and it's real nice. Bad thing is the fit on the end links are so good I couldn't get the bracelet off to try it on a strap. I finally gave up after 30 minutes.
I bought that same watch from Josh and it definitely came with Swiss ETA. I don't believe you will find a Chinese equivalent of the ETA 2671-2. It's not like the 2836-2 and 2824-2 that have Chines clones readily available. It's not a perfect rep but it's not anything that would embarrass you or her. Go For it.
