  1. Can't remember as it has been too long but I remember I bought it from a guy on Ebay. Usil
  2. As big as that thing on the arm of the guy in Cowboys and Aliens. Does it shoot down alien spacecraft too? Usil
  3. What is the distance between the lugs on the BP 5004 - for the current model with no sunken date. Who makes good straps for this watch? Usil
  4. Pictures clearly show the difference. Good shots. Usil
  5. Well, my 187 is 6 years old and you can see the condition of the bezel after a few years cleaning and polishing. It is impossible to be very effective with the markers getting in the way but it does not look too bad and has character. Rebrushng, I would think would be nearly impossible but as I said it still looks good after 6 years. As for the weight, I forget how many grams it weighs as I did weigh it when I installed the bracelet. It is definitive a noticeable weight on the arm and is why I said you need to have some attitude to wear it. There is a benefit, however, as the bracelet nicely balances the heavy watch on the wrist. With rubber it is like an off balanced weight on top of your arm taped to your wrist. Usil
  6. I was referring to recent posts indicating there have been problems with markers on the Bezel on the 187. Always a good idea to check these kind of things on new purchases. Usil
  7. Sorry to hear about the bits falling off the latest batch of 187s. Same thing happened when they first came out in 2006. Many buying them gave each marker a good look to see if loose so they could epoxy it rather than wear it and have it fall off and become lost. I bought mine from TTK back in those days and his were welded on. Here is my 187 with a SS bracelet. You have to have attitude to wear this combination or like to lift weights. Usil
  8. I take about 30% of the air out of the ball to make it work. Flexible and form fitting to back that way. Usil
  9. BT and Andreww are where I am now. I have about 30 watches I have kept and given a few away to grateful sons and daughter and pretty much have the watches I want, faults and all. I do keep track of the forum news from time to time and the new H factory stuff coming out gets me a little excited but the prices are high enough so that I probably won't buy one or maybe consider one by the end of the year. The feeling of the forum has changed and I do miss that but new blood is in the mix and time passes to the next generation. I still appreciate that there are some old timers still around and enjoy hearing their thoughts. I have always felt that this is a great forum and wish it continued success. Usil
  10. I like Breitlings and have bought a few but there is a problem, for me anyway. It is the difficulty of seeing the time when outside in the sun without having to study the face and find the hands. After getting used to large IWC and Omega hands the narrow hands used by Breitling on some of their watches makes it difficult to read the time in these conditions. I would suppose that this might also has something to do with all the bling interfering. Anyway, I would like to do a quick glance at my watch and instantly see the time and this does not happen for many Breitlings. Am I alone on this or does this bug others? usil

  17. Why are the Breitling Flying 'B' watches so expensive? They were expensive when they first came out with the rep and I thought the price would eventually come down into the mid 300's but never has. Why not? Usil
  18. I miss the good old days... Usil
  19. I highly encourage motorcycle travel in Europe. You will never forget it. Usil
  20. Cornerstone - My 4 years in Paris were up in September 2007. I moved back to Texas and worked on a 2 year project and then retired in April 2010. But when I lived in France I fell in love with the country and went back for 5 months last year to tour on my motorcycle. Going back at the end of May for another three months for more touring. Foot loose and fancy free and loving the French countryside. I chronicle my trips here with lots of pics. The log reads backwards in time so last trips in 2010 are shown first. Click on 'OLDER POST' when you get to the bottom to go to the next page. And - the watch I take with me is my SuperOcean. http://michael-paris.blogspot.com/ Usil
  21. dluddy - looks like we were three days apart from joining. My favorite watches were: Usil
  22. Don't know if I am an oldie from March 2006. I remember the old days but looks like others having fun on the forum now (along with the same kind of problems). Still have my reps and love them all but have not bought one in years and just a lurker now. Retired last year, so bounce around France in the summer on my motorcycle. Good luck to the 'newbies'. Usil
  23. Workers steal the good stuff according to a dealer. Usil
