  1. Welcome to the forum. And thanks for doing some reading before the questions. I may be able to help you on some of them. It would be best to buy from a UK dealer to avoid customs issues for you. Better to be safe than sorry. If you choose a dealer not in the UK, it is possible that the watch can hang in customs but most go through. The reputable dealers listed in this forum will usually send another watch after verifying that customs will not return it. They don't have to do this since it is not their fault that it gets hung there but they see it as a long term commitment to continue to sell reps in this forum. Dial color is a personal opinion. The 9-6-3 model or the 12-9-6 model is also a matter of personal choice. Changing the strap requires a tool that slips in the slot and depresses the pin. You may be able to do this with a very small screw driver but the tool is very inexpensive and makes the job a lot easier - especially if you plan to do it a lot. AR means Anti-Reflective coating. What comes on reps is usually called 'light AR' which is to say very little to nothing (some of the reps in 2007 came out with a much better AR coating - these will be mentioned in the forum frequently). Because of this, many are choosing to have the crystal removed and sent to K2222 or Chieftang who have located an excellent location to put a very durable AR coating on them. The difference looking through the crystal when this good AR coating is applied is amazing as the crystal almost disappears. You don't need to worry about this until after you get the watch. Keep reading about this in the forum and you can have it done later this year if you choose. The movement will be Asian. More often than not - these work ok. If it does not when it arrives - the dealers will replace it but of course there is the hassle of sending it back and waiting for the new watch. The chrono functions on the watch are the weak point. All are warned to not use them excessively and not at all is best. They will function but are not considered durable in the reps. A very few in the forum are true watchsmiths and can service the movement by disassembly, oiling and reassembly which will provide at least 5 years of operation before it is needed again. Even genuine movements need this servicing if they are to last for years. See my comments in the last question. A very few in this forum can repair and service a watch properly. Never take your rep to a AD (authorized dealer) as good as they look to us - the AD will be able to tell it is a rep very easily. You will, from time to time, see someone here tell you he did it and got away with it - don't do as they do - it is not smart - in fact - to be perfectly blunt - it is stupid. The Navitimer was my first rep and I still have it. A great looking watch. Here are a few of my other Breits: And - if you pursue this as a hobby there is and will be many good models available to you. Just keep reading the new posts and you will see the new stuff coming out but hold on to your wallet as 3 or 4 good reps can cost you 700 to 900 pounds. Good luck. Usil
  2. I bought one a few months ago from Narikaa and I like it. Large but comfortable. Usil
  3. The watch has been popular but for now it is only offered on the faux-aligator rep strap from Silix. Maybe some time in the future they will expand on this. A lot of people want the rubber strap and Silix claims waterproof to 100meters so rubber would be a good strap for it. But then, the Milinese is SS so it is fine for the water too. Good looking, durable and extremily comfortable. Usil
  4. P;LEASE -PLEASE -PLEASE -PLEASE REP THIS. Usil
  5. Nice write up. There is always a lot of confusion about this. One thing - Thanks for using my picture of the Breitling and key chain but for accuracy - the Breitling has just a standard lume and it is the key chain dangle that has the Tritium tube in it (Pink). Usil
  6. How does the strap attach? Does it take a regular strap or a special one. Any strap options currently? I don't like rubber. Too much rubber going around. Usil
  7. Everyone is going to want one of these. High Tech Watch Usil
  8. The black is sweet but I have too much in black as it is. I wanted something a little different like the blue color and bracelet. have the orange UPO so I now have a little color in my collection. Getting lots of compliments on this from people I know. My wrist size is not that huge - it was the lense I used and perspective. Usil
  9. A pitch fork sticking through the guys diving helmet? That is a pretty grisly picture. Usil
  10. I have to add my newest Breitling to this thread. Usil
  11. Silix lists this description: I think he means double sided. The watch would have to be dissasembled to be sure. I only know that it looks good to me. I doubt that any rep will have the quality AR coatings being currently applied by K2222 or Chieftang but, again, this looks pretty good. Usil
  12. Two things about the fit & finish: 1. The case back is nicely threaded and easily turns on and off with out catching or cross threading. This attention to detail is important as it is often marginal on many reps we receive. 2. In addition - the threads on the crown tube are excellently cut and the crown engages very well without the feeling that in a few more turns it is not long for this world. Everything about this watch - marvel of marvels for the rep world- actually screams quality was a conscious thought. This may indeed be an excellent year for reps. Also, on the AR - mine is excellent as you can see in my pictures. One of my wrist shots shows a nice quality refracted blue note from the thin light coming in through the window blinds. 13. I went with a butterfly deployant clasp but this (Taikonaut) looks interesting. Usil
  14. You love this watch - you love this watch - you love this watch Usil

  16. A great review and very welcome. For all those hanging on the fence for this one you are going to miss out if you don't get this one for your collection. A big watch, true. but very comfortable to wear. Just do it. Usil
  17. 24mm is the lug dimensions and sorry - no more time for pictures. See Silix prime website for other pictures. Usil
  18. I did a couple of wrist shots this morning. I have a 7.5 inch wrist. To answer your questions - Silix used a Gen to create this rep and he did an outstanding job. Got it there before anyone else and offers a very fair price. Those already asking for a version 2 and 3 and upgrade - I think you are premature and not enjoying the fruits of what has already been offered. Again, the pictures speak for themselves. Go out and buy it if you like it. Usil
  19. Read my post at the bottom on how to do it. Removing UPO Pins Usil
  20. I have been waiting for these to come out for 2 years. Great write-up but I don't need it to know I want one. It just emphasizes I want it now. Anyway, I am going to wait a bit longer to see what new dials they come out with. Usil
  21. To answer a few... Yes, the bracelet is extremely comfortable - in fact, the most comfortable I have of all of my bracelets - by far. This is a big watch at 46mm but I hardly notice it is there. It is a perfect match. Yes, it is the actual watch I got from Silix, however I removed the blue alligator band and sourced the Milinese strap from http://lonestarwatches.com. I agree. This watch would be ruined if it were a chrono. The clean lines are what creates the simplicity and elegance of this watch. This watch exceeds my expectations in every way. Nice ETA movement, smooth click bezel, fit and finish as good as any rep I have ever received, Sapphire crystal with double AR is excellent, good lume, smooth second hand, good threads on the crown stem (screw down crown) and perfectly centered date. And thanks to cornerstone I now call it 'Usil's Ultimate Heritage'. Usil
  22. Just got this in the mail today from Silix and thought you would like to see it on a mesh (Milanese) bracelet. The stick markers on the dial, the knurl of the bezel and flutes on the crown accent the bracelet perfectly. (Usil's 'Ultimate Heritage') Usil
  23. Looks pretty good to me. I have a blue one coming in a few days. Usil
  24. There is a plastic spacer surounding the Asian movement. Open it up and take a peek to see if yours is missing. Mike
