  1. Welcome to the group and I hope we never ever meet face to face. Usil
  2. Replicas can provide an amazing experiance for a watch enthusiast. Not without pitfalls but worth the effort. They provide a lot of enjoyment for a 'modest' amount of money. Welcome to the group. Usil
  3. Good post for this time of the year. This has always been a good community - some bumps - but RWG just takes a likin and keeps on tickin. Usil
  4. Excellent work on a difficult piece. Good decisions and good results. You make our hobby so much more enjoyable. Usil
  5. I truly hope all have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Best wishes, Usil
  6. You will like this place. It will satisfy your desires. Welcome to the forum. Usil
  7. Great read - thanks for shairing. I have had similar feelings through my life and got truly obsesive when I moved to Paris and saw my first gen Breitling Navigator (posters all over Paris several times a year). When I discovered RWG and found out I could buy a replica Navigator I bought it. Sweet watch and I still have it after 5 years. Then Panerai became the rage and my view of watch size shifted. I went in search of my 1-pound watch with my 187 and an added 26mm PAM bracelet which, when combined, was massive on the wrist. Then I slid back to IWC for awhile and liked how the watches felt, not obtrusive, but nice on the wrist. So now, I bounce back and forth from my 'small' LV to my medium IWCs to my larger and heavier Breitlings to my larger still Panerais or my Railmaster - and on and on and on.. And that is what I like about the rep world. It allows me to do this. And it is a lot of fun making my selection in the morning. Usil
  8. I just leave them in the box. It is too much effort to keep them all going plus what The Zigmeister says. I still go through the morning routine of reviewing the lot and seeing which one is calling to me that morning. There is always one that wants to get out of the box. Usil
  9. How the heck did you find these? Usil
  10. Very nice. You can oil the bracelet and then wash the excess off with soapy water. The oil inside the links stays and the rest washes away. Usil
  11. I kept trying to look closely to see if they were fake but looks real to me. This is amazing. Where was this? Usil
  12. If you only have a few days, take the Batobus up and down the Seine (http://www.batobus.com/english/index.htm). Many of the sites are located either on or near the Seine river and this is a hop-on hop-off boat that circles a route through the heart of Paris. Great way to see the city. Watch stores everywhere. 13. Biking since 1962. Lots of bikes from riding in the hills and dales to cross country. Mostly Honda, Yamaha but my first bike was a Triumph. Usil
  14. Welcome to the group. Owning Gens is nice and hope it does not put you off of the 'sometimes' poor quality reps that can and do occur. But when things fall into place the right way - wow! - they can be very nice. Look for dealers that do not drop ship and personally hand inspect watches before shipping to up your chances of not getting a lemon. Usil
  15. For me it was the PAM 183 - Radiomir Black Seal. I loved the picture but when I got it I just did not like it. I tried other straps but nothing helped. It sits in my watch box with a gator strap and stairs back at me. Like others, don't know exactly why. I have an LV Sub that is just a great looking little watch but when I put it on the feeling goes away. Probably the size for this one as I usually like larger watches. Still, I like to look at it so it too, sits in my watch box. Usil
  16. The Navitimer is a great first watch. It was my first. Two things to note as you are new. The chrono function on all reps with 7750's in them are not durable. So a word to the wise - after confirming it works - leave it alone. Second, the SS bracelet was a little small for me (7.5 inch wrist) and I needed extra links to wear it. If you have a smaller wrist then you are ok. If not, when you should ask to buy extra links. Makes for less frustration later when you have to hunt them down. Usil
  17. I agree with those stated. I think the best ones may be later this year. But for 2007 - have you seen 'Once'? A small budget film but a great movie. Worthy renting or downloading. Usil
  18. There is a newby with a posting of 1, now selling the 26mm SS PAM bracelet here. It is the same one I bought and it is definitely inferior to the standard 24mm PAM bracelet. I have no idea if this is the only 26mm bracelet available but the weight, construction and general quality is not very good. If you want to try what I tried by swapping parts with a standard 24mm bracelet, this works pretty well. Otherwise you might want to ask him questions about the bracelet before purchasing. Usil
  19. Ever since I bought this PAM 187 from Neil (with welded markers) back early in 2006 I have wanted the ability to see this watch in a SS bracelet. I have worn it with the rubber strap and it is just too heavy and felt lopsided. It needed a stronger firmer support for the weight. I tried straps but the dive look to this watch definitely needed a bracelet. It just was not complete. Because of the 26m lug dimensions, Neil kept telling me there was nothing available and I really don
  20. My favorite watch and gets the most wear time. Bought from Silix and price too low not to get the better movement. No problems on being waterproof. Dial issue will be seen by no one. Usil
  21. Did not like Tabs in IE7 or Firefox but no problems using it in Chrome. Don't know why. Usil
  22. I was using IE6 and got tired of it freezing and how slow it was. Tried IE7 and did not like it so went back to IE6. Bounced back and forth between IE6 one month and Firefox another and then tried Chrome. As it is - I like it fine and don't need the extra stuff for just surfing. Crashed when I opened a few You Tube windows. Does not shut down You Tube video when go back to other tabs. Typing this message is slow and not sure if it is Chrome or my DSL connection. Usil
  23. Already been using it and will never go back. All Google needs now is an operating system and by-by MS. Usil
  24. My 127 is one of my favorite watches. As the years go by I wear fewer and fewer different models but the 127 sticks in there. Always looks great with my Strap Culture strap and feels good on the wrist. Plus, I can read it without squinting. Usil
