  3. I agree. I just bought an Oppo up-converting DVD player for my new Samsung 61" LCD TV and the picture quality is amazing. 'Near' HD quality - and good enough to hold me over for all my current DVDs until HD/BlueRay settles down. And a big bonus - there is a hidden menu that allows you a setting to play all regions. Works perfect from my US and French DVDs. Usil
  4. Imperections? - What imperfections? Looks pretty damn good to me. Usil

  14. Tripod: absolutely - positively - a must have for watch photos. Taking pictures close up without bright light or just window light, like me, means slow shutter speeds and if the camera is not on a tripod it is impossible to get a good shot. A few links to spend some time on: Tech courner - Steve's Digicams Lots of camera reviews Understanding Series A Photo Forum Dedicated to Photoshop Enthusiasts How to get Great colors How to do anything Photographic A way to increase depth of field Increasing dynamic range of photos Useful photo links Usil
  15. Thanks for the kind comments on the photo. Usil
  16. Ryyannon is right - just get out and stroll through the city for a day. Or if you have not been here before and want to spend the first day on a quick tour - take the Batobus up and down the seine for a very nice river view of the city. See something you like - hop off. Batobus Usil
  17. A few Questions: 1. What is the key equipment, based on a tight budget, for someone to purchase if they want to make some decent closeup shots? 2. What are some good links to review for moving from automatic picture taking (just puch the one button) to Aperture Preferred camera settings? 3. How do you take a picture that is 8 meg in size (in the camera) and reduce it to 300k (for posting on the web) without degrading the picture too much? Usil
  18. Appreciate the time you spent on this the comments and the insight. Usil

  22. The AR is exactly what all Breiltings should have and by the way - since they can do it for this one why not the others? This should be the standard. As for the red of the date - not sure of exact color as I have never seen a gen. Usil
