Yes, but I'm having trouble believing that.
For the most part, we buy reps because we want someone to believe we have the genuine article. We're fooling someone even if it's just ourselves, and that's ok.
If you liked the look, you could get Alphas or similar, without ever having the customs risk. Or you could get less accurate, but much cheaper, reps. How much is a 3rd gen 42mm PO these days?
... or set the time widdershins (counter-clockwise). Because of the way the 7750 (this only works on a 7750) is made, the slack can be taken up counter-clockwise but not clockwise.
Yet somehow they managed to make her look ugly in Da Vinci Code.
(As a French-speaker, I tend to see subtitled French movies as just movies without the art-house pretence. It's great. )
Put an egg between two phones? Can I call Bovine Scatology on this?
You do realise the waves don't go from phone to phone, right?
(insert research here)
Yup, it's BS. Made up by some bloke for a joke. Don't be so gullible.

My pet hate is "Can you enhance that security cam photo? See the reflection on his shirt button, clear it up, reverse it and ... " or "Listen to the recording, can you remove the voices? Now remove the ambient noise ... hear it? That's another voice. Make it louder, remove the distortion and ... "
Oddly, I forgive it in CSI when you realise it's just CSI-shorthand for three days of boring un-photogenic work.
Oh, and computers that bleep incessantly when you look at them, clocks that only tick when you're looking at them and other background noises that disappear when they don't serve the plot. And logins with HUGE RED LETTERS flashing access denied when you get the password (invariably something guessable) wrong.
The Ninjas on Strings genre is silly and holds little interest for me. However, occasional wirework (Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon) doesn't bother me. Still, the recent arrival of Tony Jaa has shook up what we're supposed to expect from a fightyfists film.
So yes, people can't fly, but Superhero films are ok?
Today is IWC-day. I'm in Ireland, helping out a friend with some IT issues, so I packed three watches for the trip. I'll be wearing the uPO (on BOB for Breitling) tomorrow and the Superocean Tinhaddock the next day.
... but you're ok with people surviving gunshots?
I have rules. If a film is internally consistent, with constant bullet-dealiness quotients, I'm ok with it.
Ah, that's just life taking its toll. I moved house from Paris in April and now I have too much life going on. The months in Paris leading up to our big move, Mrs Pugwash was sorting stuff out over here in Scotland so I was at home on my own with the forums to keep me company. Once life settles down here, I'll be able to post proper article-like posts once more.
Yes, this one is based on a real version.
And yes, the seconds-at-six can cause problems. My own Porto Chrono doesn't run at all well. I'll be disabling the running seconds soon in the hope that it fixes it.
This is why I refused to work full-time in Porn. I was happy with part-time and even then I felt myself starting to go porn-blind. Instead of a hot chick, I saw where to crop the photo, how to adjust the lighting, etc. It helps to step back but remain interested.
