I am glad I'm not the only one that noticed that.
The virginity euphemism has given me a great idea; we should use different terms for watch purchases. I offer the following suggestions:
"I gave Andrew my flower" (Thanks, Monica)
"Joshua pierced my hymen in a painful-yet-nice-pain way"
"I gave it up to TTK like a drunk Lindsay Lohan"
"Money exchanged hands between me and Precious Time and now I feel dirty; I like it"
"I sat down in a bar with Wo-Mart and ... I don't remember much, but I think he broke me. It hurts"
Damn, where am I going with this? Ah yes, I remember. All of these are better than "Pulled the trigger".
Five?
Obvious first choice:
Daily Beater:
I don't wear it much, but I need to know it's in my box:
One of the two following PAMs:
... and a mystery 5th one that's not here yet. Obviously, it's a Rolex diving watch, but which one?
ps. If you ask me again next week, you may get a different answer. This is why I need three watch boxes.
As a non-American who had no preference for either team, I would say it was an excellent Superbowl. It had drama from the beginning to the end with the rain adding to the excitement. Even when the stats were all Colts, you still had the impression in the 4th quarter that the Bears had an outside chance, with the amount of turnovers gifted by the rain and over-exuberance. I missed most of the last few years NFL, so I'm out of the loop, but I enjoyed it.
"You mean, let me understand this cause, ya know maybe it's me, I'm a little [censored]ed up maybe, but I'm funny how, I mean funny like I'm a clown, I amuse you? I make you laugh, I'm here to [censored]in' amuse you? What do you mean funny, funny how? How am I funny?" - Tommy DeVito, Goodfellas.
This is my Ultimate. The pearl looks like your cheap one, too.
This one is gen:
I wonder if the pearl has a protective cover blob we're too stupid to remove on it. That would be rather sad, but somewhat relieving. Somehow I doubt it, though.
Impossible to tell from that photo, so I'll say Gen, safe in the knowledge that if it's a rep I can blame it on the photo.
If you want to really test us, don't use Imageshack as they degrade the JPEG quality.
ps. it's Genuine.
I apologise for inferring that you thought people paying for modded watches were stupid. I'll not do it again.
ps. Your movement prices are very good, from what I can tell.
That would depend on the tax rate and all sorts of other factors. Also, you'd be evading tax on the way back in if you didn't declare it, but that would be a personal choice.
I'd just do what Falco suggested and check out the Duty Free stores in the airports.
As seen on Heroes: A standard Rolex Sub?
As seen being sported by Richard "Princess 'Hamster' Diana" Hammond, a Tag Monza.
I just need a cap of Captain Slow's latest IWC and I'll have the complete set.
It's the sucking in of the gut that takes the skill.
Oh, and I'm only 83. I've a few years to go before I catch you up, mate.
ps. Try taking a self-portrait. It's not as easy as it appears.
The refund is a given, I reckon. As for returning the watch? We'll see.
The least likely outcome is that he gets his watch back serviced, but that's what I'd like to hear.
Ulk, this means I'd better start reading this forum. Oh, I already do. That's a relief.
Richard Tracy has done an excellent job setting out the guidelines, so my job is easy, I expect. Thanks, RT; you've done the hard bit.
Oh, and when I move house at the end of May, I may be passing the reins on if I don't have internet or time.
No, I've never contacted you and I don't know you. I wouldn't 'crap' you even if I did. I thought I would just make a humorous comment in reply to your calling most people on this site idiots.
I believe people get money for modified watches simply because it saves them the cost of getting their own mods done. I can't believe we're actually discussing this.
I buy an MBW, I want to modify it (why not?) but what if it's cheaper to buy a pre-modded watch with known-good mods and it's ready today? If you were going to pay for the crown guards and a relume anyway, why not get a pre-modded watch?
Or are you basically saying we shouldn't mod our watches?
Paranoid much? You tend to react rather aggressively to posts and this causes others to react just as sharply as you do. If I were you, I'd take the philosophical approach of interpreting each post in its best possible light before accusing people of being out to get you. If a phrase can be taken in two ways, assume the poster meant the good one.
