I would like to point out that much of rolexes finishing is done by computer controlled robots (there is even a film some where on the web) and Patek by hand, but that is not an excuse for sloppy work , but fcuk me 68 weeks?????????????????
I would leave it as it is, paint will flake and the chance of getting a black date wheel for an OS movement (that i think it is) and getting it fitted for less than a 7750 rep may be hard. find out if it clicks with you if you like it or love it and then depending on the feeling get an auto rep or if it is true love then the gen, go to an AD and try the gen on (leave the rep at home) you will love it!
quartz chronos can be centered by pulling the crown to either the date or time set position (different on different movements) and pressing one of the pushes to move and recenter the chrono hands, one button in one pos will move the min and the other the hour subdial, and in the other crown position one button with move the main seconds hand. Have a play
Not just the purchase but the whole experience
My first year here was a bit of a learning curve and a lot of bewilderment but this place became home for me.
One of the main things about RWG is community, we really have one of the best wrist watch horological sites in the world here, we have experts in almost every marque that really do know what they are talking about not just pimps for one factory.
You may have noted that the who has the best sub question comes up a lot and is a bit of a running joke
Keep posting and keep reading you will soon find your feet
Until recently i have always removed stems in the winding position but after a few problems on 2836s i have stated to do it in the hand set positions and that has really helped not had a problems since.
Guys i am flattered but i would not say i am an expert on IWC just a bit of a Fan
I would say Andreww for Breitlings also
i think you may need a sub category for pam and rolex of vintage and modern
That is my understanding also in relation to sizes however there are differences if you look in the tech sheets attached you will see that the 1128 is basically a 2892 with a gmt modual on top and the 2893 is a GMT movement as a whole, hand sizes and the rest of the dimensions are the same and they should be a direct swap omega 1128.pdf 2893 gmt.pdf
Another possible cause i have had in the past are loose movement retaining screws as they sit in the path of the rotor so if one is loose it will be stopping the rotation, what watch and movement is it, can you post a decent photo of the movement?
Me too i when there once cant quite remember a lot though, I remember banana for some reason, I would like to ride over but that is the last week at work so i will not be able to get away.
