  1. That is an asian 7750 with no chrono parts same as the swiss 7750 fitted in the gen auto pams, francisco did a tutorial on reto-fitting a swiss reversing wheel to an asian as the pinion size is smaller on the asian one so the pinions on the swiss one had to be ground down. (lot of lathe work)
  2. you lucky lucky barstuart, my wife loves the 20s rolex, but if i bought it for i know what she would say, "Its too small!!" she wears a steel fish all the time so every thing i see vintage that she likes is too small. Nice 5513 as well, just clean it and if it is a 67 then i think it should have a matt dial but for less than a grand in US$ i would not be complaining!
  3. That is a lot of cash for an old watch it is at
  4. It sounds like the spring arm that holds the yolk in place has popped of of the yolk has slipped out of the sliding pinion, classic keyless works stuff, there is tutorial here somewhere, you will have to remove the dial, hands and date wheel to get to it but it is not that difficult once you get into it. What setting was the crown in when you removed it, Winding, date set or hand set, i find i have less problems when i remove the stem when it is the hand set position.
  5. Nice little collection you have there J
  6. Congratulations Gran, are you a fan of star wars then?
  7. I am afraid i only have the movements
  8. Ah not a mac user my self, maybe it s the old software that does not show it. Well if you are in job you like then that is a bonus, I never got into stereos thank god, Harleys used to soak up my cash but it is watches now. Reps can be very good value for money if you buy the right one. For example:- I bought my self a white dial breitling steel fish for about $250 over 3 years ago, my wife nicked it and has worn it ever since, it is water proof and a great looker i have had it apart to relume it and (i know a bit about watches) it really is a quality bit of work, if it was not a rep it should easily sell in a shop for over 1K with its spec of:- Sapphire glass AR coating swiss auto movement not bad lume (better now) stainless bracelet ect The more you read the more you know the less crap you buy.
  9. Ah there is this one but it is an auto and the gen is a hand wind, the asian 21j can be a real good movement but you never know, there is also a gold 197 with hand wind but you will only get 2 days power reserve out of it.
  10. No need to quote every reply i make mate, just use the quick reply box. If this is your first go for one with a handwind asian movement as they are very robust and cheeper and half of the parts on the swiss movements are asian any way to make them look like gens. A base version (with out subdials are the simplest) you will have a sunken cannon pin (where the min hand is attached) and the lume wont be great but apart from that no issues. It can take years till you know what you are talking about in this hobby, the best thing is to spend at least 18 hours a a day reading here and then a bit on the gen forums and in about 18 months you will be just like the rest of us Broke Out of work Divorced with a good watch collection!
  11. And if you want to do that swap i still have a few 2893s left
  12. It is a nice watch though. but as i say there are many good radiomir reps out there like these here The sellers page is linked as an example but all the other sellers will be able to get the same watches as some sellers are better than others particularly if you are in The EU.
  13. I can drink it but prefer a bourbon, i have spent a night with a mate who had loads of bottle of single malts but by the time he asked me to try them i had drank half a bottle of jack so it was a bit wasted (so was i)
  14. Jakob Rameres in spain makes fantastic hand made straps have a look here he made this one for my ingy and it cost less than you may think
  15. I think that after almost a year then it would a far stretch to have the seller fix it, I think you have made the right decision pay to have it fixed and enjoy it.
  16. The one on the left (cats is probably wearing the the other one)
  17. That will be a Pam 190 and you csn buy the gen here if you have 10K
  18. Ah the one with the JLC movt, no replica of that due to the movement, but there are some very good radiomirs with unitas hand wind movements
  19. Hi, your best place to start looking would be the panerai area, what is the radiomir 8 any way?
  20. not found it yet, but i have a couple of projects that need attention now.
  21. I really dont see how you could safely install a new tube with the movement installed, he should have at least ran a tap through the threads to ensure they were clean and straight. Who did the work?
