  1. A very quick post To be honest the main watch brands left me cold, unless you had an appointment all you could do was look through the glass from the out side, (makes me love reps even more) But i can confirm there is a 42mm PO chrono! I spent 3/4 of my time today walking round and only really enjoyed the smaller manufactures (SINN was very nice) until i found the tools area Ahhhhhhh kid in a sweety shop time! glad i dont have a visa as i could have spent millions and i mean that! Best thing today was dinner and a beer with a new friend! Thanks for showing us round, and for the safest parking i have ever had in the center of a city. I will see how the photos come out tomorrow on the way home.
  2. I may be buying an Austrian precision lathe in the morning
  3. I am in Germany (well basel right now) those small hobby lathes have real crap tolerances from the ones i have seen though, i know that can be worked with but they just feel cheep, and every time a nice vintage quality one cam up i have not had the cash
  4. I need a lathe, i have been meaning to get one for years, Good work J
  5. Welcome home Nikki this is what i received from you in your hospital bed and after a relume glowing nicely now Thanks you Nikki I had a quick look at the 3717 but it looks like the main spring is not providing any power, when i get back from Basel i will see if it can be fixed
  6. Where are you located i am expecting a white dial but would need a red dial for a birth year watch, i may be interested in a swap
  7. the basic height of all the desks i have worked on is 95cm, that also seems to be the default height of all the ones you can buy

  15. I cant see a car here, nice legs though
  16. Shame he did not tell you, but nice to know some parts are available, just a shame there is no source for seagull parts
  17. Just got this today from Nikky6, all all the UNs the same? crap lume and real rough edges on the bracelet? all sorted now, bracelet polished and rebrushed to smooth out the edges and a lick of tritec on the hands and dial Not great lume shot but believe me it is a billion time better than stock apart from that great looking watch, It has been a while since i wore the gen but the silver dial looks very nice, for what i paid it is a very nice watch
  18. No seagull is a brand of its own that has been around for many years, they make a vast part of the worlds mechanical watch works, up to and including minuet repeaters and tourbillons coating $100.000 plus. They have there own brand watches and make what i have found to be some of the most reliable Asian movements. A Gen eta in a rep could be any number of years old at least a clone or a seagull will be new
  19. Be happy if you have a seagull, they are not junk at least it will be new
  20. That could be solved with higher seconds pinion, canon pin and hour wheel though
  21. Following a question from Nakortheblue about this I got my UN from Nikky6 (star) and found the answer for Nak Hope this helps Text again in case you cant read the green With the crown in the winding position a small lever will be visible here press that while gently pulling the crown. To check you have the right bit open and close the crown from winding pos to hand setting and you will see the lever pop in and out
  22. To release the crown on a maxi marine Text again in case you cant read the green With the crown in the winding position a small lever will be visible here press that while gently pulling the crown. To check you have the right bit open and close the crown from winding pos to hand setting and you will see the lever pop in and out
  23. Nope i have hammered a bracelet pin through my finger before, polished off most of my finger prints at one time or another as well
