  1. That is the thing with GTLS, there was a watch designed for the military which had GTLS and the tips of the hands done in tritec to cover all eventuality, i think it was called a battle timer
  2. The thing is with photos of lume there are so many variables from the amount of charge it has, the exposure time and the background light. You can't compare pictures. If you can read it through the night then that is good. If you want true nuclear lume then GTLS is the way to go
  3. Pretty impressed that the crystal is 5 years old and the AR and it is still in great condition after all the places it has been like the jungles of Cameroon to sailing in the English Channel and the deserts of Iraq and Kuwait
  4. Well it is a 22mm so there are lots of options. Just look at waccex breit section loads of different 22mms
  5. In general yes but on one point no That is QC But by and large you can not get an automatic stainless steel watch with sapphire glass for the same as a rep
  6. The Swiss parts should fit and it is nothing any watch smith should Be afraid to do
  7. Google double red seadweller you will find lots of photos there
  8. It sounds like a problem in the keyless works. I just fixed a similar issue on a gmt 2c for a mate. I had to replace one of the parts but this may just be dirty and the arm(can't remember the real name) is not moving back fully hence when you turn the hands backwards the gears mesh as they are forced together but when you go forwards they slip past each other.
  9. Here s some Advise i used to say all the time but i will say it once more "Spend your time reading and learning before you spend your cash, that way both will be well spent"

    Moonwatch

Ditto above The moon watch can be modded. I have done a few my self but no mater what you do you will not overcome the stubby markers at 3 and 9. But you can change the crystal, paint the rehaut, freeze the subdial at 6, relume it, gold plate the movement but you won't get over the stubborn markers.
  11. Seiko 5 all the way. And auto with a display back a propper watch and good lume on the Lumed models
  12. Nice review but now go down town and see if you can get a stainless steel watch with sapphire glass , bracelet and automatic movement for the same price I think you will stuggle As to the seconds going backwards this will happen on most mecanical movements if they are non hacking and you turn the crown with just the right amount of tourque, not to much not to little but some do it easyer then others, however you should not realy be setting the time on any machanical watch backwards as it can cause exess wear to the clutch, imagine (i know it is alot different but the theory is the same) driving the wheels of your car forward while it is be ing towed backwards. As to the crown there should be seals inside the tub and crown but not visible out side, go to the mall and ask a small battery change stall if they can test it (do not go to an AD)
  13. NO Take off all hands at one go Set all hands to 12 if you can Put a thin sheet of plastic over the top of the hands and dial use the presto and remove all the hands together they will be held in the plastica and that will also protect the dial Like this but with plastic to protect the hands and dial
  14. From what i have heard the gen bezels are a direct swap nothing more to it as long as you have an EX II and a spare GMT bezel assembly
  15. nope it is a standard EX II with a 16750 bezel assembly, sweet isnt it!
  16. Did you buy parts or a complete watch? Did you buy from a TD or private seller? Were the parts described as less than perfect?
  17. Well the list is endless but one thing for sure if you want to swimm with it get it checked, but reps Can be water proof, but dont trust the supplier If you are in the EU then i can test it for you. one tip go for a sports watch with no chrono, 90% of the rolex 70% of the IWC, there is just too many to list
