  1. Ok a couple of new photos First one from Lani to use for comparison Now one from mine I know the rehaute is still way to big and thwe dila too recessed but it is going a long way to diguising it by just simply painting it matt black One more just for fun
  2. I am sure it was one small step for man but one giant leap for Da man Nice watch Lani can i use you shots for comparison for my V3 mod post
  3. We all started somwhere and we all learnt lots Grass roots is maybe what we need I look forward to your post and i hope that I can contribute also
  4. I had has a similar problem in a noob case on a project i was working on a couple of years ago, i shortend the stem a touch and it solved the problem Contary to popular belive you dont need to tighted a screw down crown with mole grips to make them water proof, just snug will do, (not a dig at you just informationa for all)
  5. I would even say that they are using the standard holes for the other screw needed for the second wheel (ETA part 220) cock that is on the basic eta base plate
  6. After V1, just fitting a plexy to V1.5 fitting a bigger one let us call this V2. even thought i thing i got to V3 in my first try here Problem:- gen moony has a pressed in plexy that has a mat black tension ring sat on the dial giving a tiny rehaute, Pug could you please try and find a photo that will show this as you have the gen and are the photo teach rep has a fxxxxing huge rehaute that is shiny. Solution Paint the rehaute mat black, How it goes, last night was try one, not very good at painting, forget try one. Tonight try two, got home from work 4 hours late, clean off last night attempt, re paint rehaute re glue in crystal re build watch, that simple. low light Faults glue is glossy and shows up (this is correct sternkreuz crystal glue) solution, get a 342 that i will be able to press in and avoid the glue, On order now. Still got a Fxxxing huge rehaute, but it is not as noticeable. Paint not quite right needs to be less mat and more satin, (my daughter as only so may shades of mat black in the paint box) looking for better paint. Still got the wrong subdials, ah well never mind! Coments thoughts????
  7. A 2813 will do you fine but a miyota 8215 will last longer, what else you will need will be rodico to clean dust ect (my favorate for picking up an holding hands while i reposition them), peg wood but for starting out you may be ok with some toothpicks, a dust blower, a movement holder, eye loupe, patience, silicone grease for regreasaing gaskets, tweasers (i love dumont number 2s) and more patience. If you have any questions or need any help please let me know or any of the board for that matter i am sure we can help.
  8. As i said i would like to know who is making the bridges, winding, wheels ect though
  9. The movements yes but unaseblebled, i wonder who is making the bridges and balances also
  10. I think the screws on the balence wheel are just an attempt to make the movement more complicted than it has to be and therefore justifiy its price, The hand hold has puzzeled me for a while and i see no reson for it either Forth wheel jewel looks a little close to the edge but then again i have a skeleton that is quite tight that i finished the other day An itersting point is that these if it is a swiss ebouche come from ETA and therefor swatch, who shoud not be selling ebouche any more, so that opens the question where is the movement made it it is not from swatch???
  11. Well Adam, i am not a expert on SAs but let me welcome you to RWG The first two watches are more than likely the same but the seller is different, and that is oftern the deciding factor in this game. I cant give you any more than that as i cant visit those sites from where i am right now,
  12. I would say a reworked 6497, it is fucking nice though!
  13. Who was it who has a singature pic that said "The Higher you post count the longer your penis" I took that to heart i realy did!
  14. It would be worth you searching out the post about best buys under $150, or was it $100, there are some cracking buys in that list, it may be 6 months out of date and you could help up date it ia little but if you are on a buget and arnt we all that is the best place to start.
  15. In agreement there the white looks good, and even the movement decoration is Ok for the price, just wish it was the Rhodium
  16. I have also noticed the slow down, i may self went throught a period of not posting much at all, I have aslo noticed a lack of feed back to tutorials form the likes of ziggy that he noted a while ago. Maybe it is the time of year, i know that whn i am not at work, at home working on my other work, in the garden tring to sort out the jobs i have been meaning to do all summer (but been to lazy) i am trying to get out for rides on my harley to get some good times in before winter kicks in. We are still getting some good and exiting reps in, just lok at the Sinn and the UNs, if i had the spair cash i would have ordered both already so i dont think it is that. May be we have not instilled the sence of community in the newer members yet for them to start posting yet How about a POM competition???
  17. So the white dial is not the Rhodium one that Laz and Robby had, damn, So is it worth waiting for the ultimate, the price on these to bedin with is about $188 for the Blue surf, hmmmm wait or not????????
  18. The Po lite and the SFSO are good examples of this, i think the only difference on the SFSO is the lack of AR on the lite versions, i missed one for sale just the other day:(
  19. micky are those markers black or dark flame blued?
