  10. I tend to work with the 3.5 most of the time and the 10 only if i am working on hair springs, after a while it is often easier to work with out as the feel is often more important.

  20. Why not just polish the vintage crystal, they have a loverly look when they are old and polished and you will still see the dial. You can use brasso on the crystal too great effect, and if the scratches are really deep then use very fine emery paper under a running tap to polish the big ones out
