  1. I think that the movement fitted as standard uses different hands sizes than what would fit a 2892, "asian clone of 2892" was just a sales ploy,
  2. I dont think any altitude or cold with in reason would affect a mechanical movement, after all an explorer one went to the top of everest.
  3. prefer seconds @ 6 but that is on the right lines 44mm? A real shame that modded unitas style with centre seconds are not available, could the chinese factorys mod the asian 6498 to make a center seconds like the chronoswiss movement?
  4. I ecpect to be wearing this untill friday when i have an enforced change, (no matter how much i love what i am wearing i always change on a friday even if just for the working hours)
  5. Tourby, i would prefer a dial like the steinhart with secs @ 6, it would have a nice clean look to it and very in keeping with the tradition of the observer uhr. I find the dail that you currently use a little too busy the way it looks now.
  6. Standard Double AR direct from Precious Time on friday, as it comes.
  7. Taken on my phone! at 1938m high in the alps
  8. I saw the offer as well and was sooooo tempted as i just gave mu PO to a mate for his birthday, but with the new INGY on the way the wife would have killed me, i expect they are all gone by now any way. I mean what a deal!
  9. The quality on the SOSF realy blows me away every time i look at it. We will see on the Ingy but i anm very impresses so far, but the one that has held my attention the longest is the railmaster, i would say it was a super rep before the name existed. It is so good a wear it for the most dangerous and arduous work i can do outside of conflict. And it keeps better time than the gen Aqua terre i have.
  10. Wow 15 days and no posts has this one died a death?
  11. Thanks Jkarpas, Piratedzeus the AR on mine is very evident, you may have recieved the older non AR version, i would check this with your supplier, try to post a photo with some light reflecting on the crystal so we can see.
  12. The Ingy has landed, wow is this thing heavy, as soon as i picked the parcel up i know it had some heft, It came very well packed from Precious Time. As soon as it was unpacked i started to resize the bracelet and it must be the easyest one i have ever done. It felt howerver a bit gritty of off to the ultra sound for a bath, while that was going on i gave the head a good polish up with cape cod and a good inspection, no cracked paint on the edge of the dial, the date wheel is misalighed but that will get changed at a later date any way. I oiled cleaned and polished the bracelt and re fitted it and it feels nice, very nice, The clasp Had a look at the back and the movement and it is an ETA 2836 in this double AR version. The back was not overly tight so have a good check when you recieve one. AR now i am no expert but this looks good and does what it should. i tryed to take a photo but as you can see my skills are not the best, but when i went out side you get that great blue sheen to the crystal in one direction just like Maximillions signature photo and in the other direction the crystal is gone. The lume is pretty poor on this one but apparently not very good on the gen. This to me is a very readable watch in any direction and exudes class and function. I love the contrast between the side view with the polished side of the bezel and the brushed front view with the polished edges, a very nice though out design, a Genta i belive. I thought that it would be smaller than it is but i am very happy, it wears lager than a sub but smaller than SFSO. A few quick photos for you all. sorry about the quality but i am no Pugwash Thanks PT
  13. This photo just made want to buy one of these! Great shot.
  14. Was there not a thread a while ago where, some one said that rolly sales are down in a certain area due just to the fact that the first question that is asked is "is it real?", I for one even if i had the cash would not buy a real rolly because of this.
  15. I have looked at a couple of gens and they look off white in real life, is is like the white of the SFSO, in a photo they look white but in life more of a creamy tone.
  16. Link not working OS but i found it on the bay, That sell does not normly sell reps so i assume he has got hold of a load of these homage watches.
  17. It sounds like you have dislodged the keyless works on the movement, and that is not a hard fix for a watch smith, $600 to install a ETA, ripp off, the movement proberbly need a service and clean any way, a lot of what we get are surpluss movement and there is no telling how long they have sat around, try to find another watch smith who is honest for a start or wait untill ziggy is back at work and see if you can send it to him for the service.
  18. Low battery indicator, my seiko does it ever 2 secs when the battery is low.
  19. Welcome back, and keep up the good work.
  20. As stated many times the only place to get a true Noobmarina is from TTK and that has NO ETA movement
  21. I think you would get better crown stem tube alignhment with a 2892.
  22. Well the Noob (from TTK) is a very good watch the case dial and bracelet are recond by many to be one of the best, The movement is a good bit of kit just cheep, the sweep may not be a smooth as the ETA in the MBW or any watch with an ETA, If the noob movement does break it is cheep to replace and a good stating point to learn a bit of reparing your self, Many asian movements run for many many years with out missing a beat. The MBW vintage subs are some of the best becase they accept Gen parts and are very good for modding to be near perfect eventualy. The Modern MBW sups in many cases are no better in some respects than any other ETA sub. Bang for Buck go for the noob in my oppinion, but have a search about you will find loads of info here.
