  1. LHOOQ Haha I was typing that information as you posted.... The Zigmeister said that these movements are good if properly serviced.
  2. I am getting conflicting processes.................. lol
  3. Are these the three screws that need to be removed? Is there anything else or any other precautions that need to be done?
  4. So I got some tools for Christmas. I have a watch being sent to me that has to be put in the case. There was a problem with the movement and it was replaced. Now have the watch movement coming in with the dial and hands on it. I have to put it in the case. My question is this. I noticed from a picture that the hands have fingerprints on them. I would would like to remove those. Can someone tell me the procedure for using the tool to remove the hands, clean the hands, and then put them back on. Gosh I know that is a lot. Maybe I could be pointed to a tutorial somewhere online. I figured I would buy some Rodico to help with the cleaning job. This would be the hands on a A7750. I only need to clean the hour and minute hands. Thanks!
  5. So what is the best technique for doing this? I have a watch coming in that I know has finger prints on the hands. I would like to clean them before the movement goes in the case. I would assume that I need to remove the hands first. Sorry this is my first time for this kind of thing.
  6. Nejad the watches look great! Thanks for sharing! The first one has a real interesting band. Can you tell us more about the band?
  7. Nice job! My 6265 is on the way back from the spa. I cannot wait to get it.
  8. Also be sure the stem is in the winding position or so I am told. I do not speak from experience only mental forum notes.
  9. TeeJay I like the 1970's as well. I was thinking of a 1680 or a 1665. I just do not know what direction to go in.
  10. My dad has a gold plated version of this watch with a square case from the '70s. When I was growing up I was always fascinated by the watch.
  11. M what do you recommend as a good vintage sub project? The more that I look at these vintage subs the more I like them.
  12. Nice Ronin I have some tools on the way and a project in mind as well.
  13. Good Eye! It looks like another inconsistency. There is something up with that side of the bracelet. Obviously some parts from another bracelet were put in for some reason.
  14. That is a real simple tool. It is basically a flat screwdriver with a notch in the middle. Harbor Freight has them for almost nothing. You could make one or just use a screw driver as well.
  15. You mean I actually guessed correctly when I said the red word "submariner" was too large?
  16. Thanks guys I really appreciate it.
  17. I am ordering some tools because I have none. I have a case opener on the way. I would like to get a movement holder. Some of the movement holders are really cheap. Does it matter? What would be a good one that is not much money? Thanks!!!
  18. You would have to be exact for that. It would be best to make a template from another dial and then put use that template to help position the feet on the dial.
  19. What is the difference between a 1665 and a 1680?
  20. The biggest advantage going with the yuki case is the fact that the crown position will be correct. The biggest disadvantage with yuki is of course the price. It will be more expensive. Also there has been some talk that some of the newer MBW watches do not take gen parts such as the bezel like they did in the past. I know you said you do not want a gen movement but with the yuki case that is still a possibility if you change your mind in the future if you change your mind. There are some really nice dials out there but a lot of them have feet made for gen movements.
