  1. I would guess not a correct crown but the thing I really noticed was the size of the red word "submariner". It is too large.

LOL Arthur I looked it up on my iphone app too! It did not look anything like the model on the iphone.

The only reference that I have of a 2918 looks totally different. The one that I am looking at does not have red numbers, crown is much thinner, hands are black, and the sub dials are placed differently so that they overlap some of the other lines. Also I am not sure it is supposed to say chronogprahe on the dial. Of course maybe the 2918 that I have reference to is a different dial or a variation.
  4. Thanks for posting Freddy. I thought this but am still unsure of myself (noob) and I do not want to post incorrect things. So the question remains. Is the removal of the auto winding gears easy or something left to a watchmaker? Any tutorials?
  5. Isn't there an issue with fitting gen parts on a new MBW? I think another good route would be to get a case from yuki and use a spacer ring so an eta movement can go inside. Then the crown position is correct.
  6. My understanding is that the manual winding is bad because it can put excessive wear on the auto winding gears which then put metal shavings in the case. (not good) By removing the auto winding gears most of this problem is removed. Basically I will have a A7750 on the way to me very soon because the person that I got it from is replacing it. I figure the auto winding gears need to come out. The rotor has to be removed so the low profile case back will fit. That means manual winding is the only option.
  7. Seasons Greetings!!! I have an a DW 7750 based 6263 Daytona. Originally there was something wrong with the movement so I had it replaced. I know it is best to remove the auto winding gears so it can be wound frequently without wear. How hard is this to do and is there a tutorial anywhere? Thanks!!!
  8. Thanks Drury. I keep coming back to this thread. The watch looks great!
  9. drury did you get the dial from CWP or did they refinish a dial that was sent to them? Thanks!!!
  10. I think the clark crystal is about the only substitute for the gen #21 tropic. The prices have really gone on on them. I got mine in the spring for about $90. It seems that all the ones I see now are around $200. Does Rolex still make this crystal?
  11. The watch looks tremendous! Where did you get the dial? Wow!
  12. It looks like I spoke out of turn..... When The Zigmeister looked at this watch. There was a problem with the movement. It is being replaced... The Zigmeister also commented about the pusher coming out. The pushers seem to work fine now. I guess he fixed that when he had it. I have the ones with the circlip on the inside. All is fine now. All I have to do now is wait for a new movement.
  13. What kind of case are you putting this movement into?
  14. The ledge where the crystal meets the insert is not gen like. It looks more like the construction of a noobmariner. Still a nice rep though
  15. Thanks for the tips Freddy. I will check it out and report back.
  16. I have an extra DW6263 that has loose pushers. They screw all the way out. I know this is a known issue. What are my options and what does it require? I would assume after market pushers from Ofrei would be one option but how are they installed? I think the thread pitch would be different.
  17. Congrats Rosnik. It is good to hear a story like this. I have some tools coming for Christmas.
  18. Well this is good news. Eventually I would like to start a 1680 project. I think a Yuki case, eta movement is a good starting point.
  19. Nice! The photos look good too.
  20. Did you order from WM9 or BK? BK is great to deal with.
  21. I have seen people ask but it has never really been answered. Is it possible to purchase a yukiwatch 1680 that is made for a rolex movement and put an eta with a spacer in it? I know the crown position is high but I thought it might be possible to get a thinner eta movement and make it work.
