  1. Wrong Coronet shape B, but still a really nice result on the cheap.
  2. Hi B, I did have a think about this but the only way to remove the paint is by using a pin, which scratches the inner surface of the number cavity and ends up looking crap. It could ideally use a bit of aging to the numbers and dots but i have seen a few whitey's in my research. Here's Mr D's handy work on the dial. Its kinda going back to what we were doing a while ago using the old silix 6538 builds, creating a nice looking but cheap 6542 build
  3. Nearly finished on my 6542 build, and decided to have a play about with the rep 6542 Plastic Insert. Having had a really good look at various Gens i wanted to re create the Black spiders web effect that a lot of them seem to suffer with in terms of the aging process. I have to say I'm really pleased with the result Just waiting for a roulette overlay from Italy to complete the build. Daz has, as always done an amazing job of re luming my dial and hands, my watchmaker has modified my 2846 so it mimics a Gen 1036 movement. Hacking lever removed, non adjustable 24hr small hand and a non quick set function. Watch this space Cheers DH
  4. Hi Mr B, hope you had a great time in the Sun I made her an offer of $200.00 and she accepted it. Very good deal for the complete set in my opinion.
  5. This is one I'm using for a 6542 build, not sure if there's any difference between this one and the NCG Sub's one, Plated Brass as per Gen. Purchased from World Time Inc (Phongs Daughters Ebay store) cheers DH
  6. Good afternoon gents, Wanting to get my 6542 build finished off but I've been let down by an old mate who has a printing compNy who was due to produce me some overlays. Have any of you guys got a spare white overlay with flat 3's and open 6 and 9's. All the best DH
  7. A bit thick in terms of the case, but might be a useful candidate for a 1016 build. http://www.ebay.com/itm/chronotac-1016-oyster-automatic-oyster-sub-watch-1655-acrylic-explorer-vintage-/121322935252?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1c3f6913d4
  8. Good to hear that you've come out through the other side. I can sympathize mate, going through a very rough patch of my life at the moment and the forum helps me get through the day sometimes. I guess what doesn't kill you makes you stronger
  9. I would say about the going rate, I always tend to use www.chrono24.com to get a true Global Value on any watch. Good Luck DH
  10. Very Nice build Kin, can i ask where you got the spring pins from? They look like there designed for a military G1O srap?
  11. How about competitively priced Gens? maybe Fortis or Glycine. If you wanted to go down the vintage route how about a nice Enicar sherpa or maybe a Zodiac GMT??? they'll keep there value and are interesting to collect Good Luck with the search!
  12. I've used on of Yuki's rings before which was listed as a conversion for the 3135 to eta if that helps
  13. Blimey, its like an old school re union! Crack open the Beers
  14. Thanks Pete, I appreciate your imput as one of the PAM mans on the forum. If you can confirm the info regarding the Milliesimations being right then that would be a bonus mate Cheers M
  15. Thats what i thought mate, but that CG doesn't look terribly flush to the case. Hmmm
  16. Good Morning PAM fans, after trying numerous 44mm PAMS i had to accept the fact that they're simply too big for me. Noticed that Angus has just added a 310L 40mm chrono. One issue that seemed not right was the flushness of the CG to the case, is this a simple re-shape job to get it to sit better on the case? Cheers DH http://www.puretime-asia.com/product/pam310-l-40mm-chrono-ss-black-dial-on-black-leather-strap-a7750/
  17. Placed an Order with Angus from the New website last week, got my QC pictures after about 2 days and its been shipped. Paid by credit card. Sorry your having an issue C, not sure why, Angus has always been reliable in my experience Cheers M

  21. Very interesting Archie, funnily enough up until about 2 years ago i used to be able to ring up Bexley and get history on the older Rolex's i was buying or sourcing for customers but all of a sudden they're now not confirming any history at all. Unless of course its been stolen! Rolex - 'Made in Kent'
