  1. Nice MK1 Maxi dial with the longer thinner coronet which started from around 1975. Issued in 1977 so sounds about right. Couldn't really see but if the fixed wires are still intact its an easy enough job to put a folded bracelet on the watch as the endlinks don't need to function as such. Nice Christmas present for the bloke! DH
  2. All correct with flat top '3's, but yes its had a replaced safety flip lock as previously mentioned. Here's a correct 'plain' one a a reference. Cheers DH
  3. My personal opinion, based on the amount of PAMS that seem to be up for sale across the forums seem to suggest that the 'BIG WATCH' fad has long gone. to agree with Fred, I can manage a 39mm Vintage Sub but anything bigger now feels very un-balanced and top heavy on the wrist. DH
  4. UK seller on the hands http://www.tickintimeworldofwatchtools.co.uk/
  5. Jut wanted to share the initial stages of my next build. Managed to buy Whoopy's last 1680 MK3 Red dial and sent it off to Big Daz for him to perform his magic. Hope you like it guys!
  6. Lovely Mate, on with a 1680 Red build myself at the moment. Funny how you always seem to go back to the models that started the obsession in the first place DH
  7. Very Nice Mr Rolo. Best am 1655 dial ever made in my humble opinion. Shame the buggers disappeared! M
  8. Not sure, I have a feeling that once you've managed to remove a 30-40 year old pin with a pair of grips etc it may result in a destroyed tube etc. Cousins here in the UK supply all widths as complete sets.
  9. Certainly looks Gen, and incredibly clean
  10. Ahhr B, he looks fluffy and cuddly just like the snow
  11. Agree with you there Panerai, correct snake 'S' and correctly spaced '110' on his insert. DH
  12. He does it again!!! Fantastic bezel profile on these Helenarou 6538's off the shelf so no need for Mr Phong's
  13. Thanks for the info Kime, is it a major job taking into consideration that the sub dial at 6 on the V75 doesn't function?
  14. Good Morning Gents, I wanted to know if any of the DW dials that were originally made for the Valjoux movements/mystery movement etc would fit the Venus 75 movement used in the 6263 reps produced by the Cartel etc. Just wondered if anyone had managed to transplant one Many Thanks DH
  15. Eat fish and chips after the pub, they woke me up at 3.45am this morning with a rumbly tummy and i couldn't get back to sleep
  16. Got to agree on the rep front, unless you want to wear a rolex theres not a lot out there. For me it's a comfort thing, anything bigger than 40mm and the watch feels too top heavy on my wrist. Currently waiting for a nice 6263 Daytona to arrive. In terms of gens how about a nice Fortis chronograph, Sinn also produce somme lovely 40mm watches and again aren't hyped on price and have a cool 'in the know' profile. The Glycine Airman 18 at 38mm is also a very cool piece with loads of proper heritage.
  17. Not sure really what to say cats, you've been a fixture here for as long as i can remember. I guess its a case of making the most of everyday and live life to the full as best you can mate. I have a ten year old son and have now idea how I'd personally deal with this situation myself if something like this happened to me. All i can do i guess, is wish you well my friend Cheers DH
  18. I'm here to help, please have a look at my post covering this. All the best DH
  19. Good Afternoon AP Fans, Sat on the fence with regards to purchasing the new V6 Diver on the steel bracelet. I've noticed that its stated as being 14mm as opposed to the 17mm thickness of the Offshore Chronos. Having tried my mates Chronopassion on, i certainly couldn't live with its thickness. Appreciate any feedback Cheers DH
  20. Everything improved on, however same movement as before Confirmed by Toro to me last week
