Spend too much time chasing down "bargain" gens... repairing.... modding ( as in moderating), and working a full time job! My interest here now, is as a source of info on the latest releases, so when I bid on "the bay", I can do so with reasonable certainty, that I am not going to get "done". I don't beleive reps posted on the 'bay", do our/your little hobby any favours, so I report ALL duds I see in my nightly wander around the 'bay. Others may argue that this approach doesn't really achieve anything... so be it.... but I am, and have always been a great one for research.... what better place to research... to NOT get scammed... than here. AND, I am yet to buy a non-gen.. in over 100 'bay purchases! In a nutshell...... horror...... I actually beleive I get better value in my bargain gens.... than I do from reps! (Although I weaken from time to time, when I can't get the gen I really want even at 10 or 20 times the cost of the rep!) Confusing... yes... but thats how I think! Offshore PS, Whilst composing this, my sniping programme jumped in to tell me I had bought a Rado Voyager @U$38 ( + $12 freight) And it is a bloody nice clean watch, serviced, from one of my regular ebay sellers. I will either keep it in my box! or will get well over $100, IF i resell it.

Corgi, There are a number of valuers, pay or free, Google search "watch valuations." eg.http://www.bonhams.co.uk/cgi-bin/public.sh/pubweb/publicSite.r?sContinent=USA&screen=Watches Alternatively, just float your photos to any of the bigger auction houses, specialising in antique watches, especially if they have an auction coming up. You may be amazed at the detail in the response you receive..... especially if it has some genuine basis for resale! Doesn't mean you have to sell it..... just pique their interest with photos, and see what results you glean! Offshore

Sometimes you will find less O rings, depends on the particular watch and WP setup. Just make 'em greasy shiny! Offshore

I needed to revisit this... my success rate has been excellent of late... probably 3 in 4. Tonite I reported an Omega, which was only questionable to the layman ( just a wrong description.. and a "good" seller) and it was pulled within 2 hours! This has NEVER happened before! I sit here wondering if ebays' increased recognition, has any correlation to the increased endeavours of PP? ie, If I keep winding up ebay, am I also increasing PP's surveillance? Thoughts? Offshore

FF, Invest a few $$ in a sniping programme ( I use Auction Sentry) and you will always have your maximum bid up! Can tell you, it works for me, and there are a few "hidden" benefits, if you use it wisely! Offshore

Go the nylon Pugs, they just feel "nicer" than the brass, ( I have both) I use my brass for caseback pressing, but invariably use the nylon for crystals... my 2 aren't interchangeable... the brass is screw on, the nylon is a press fit. Offshore Sorry, couldn't resist the "search" shot!!

If you knew the hours we spend, chasing "multi" posters, ( and catching them), you would see that we don't view these infractions as "minor" How honest is it to develop a 2nd persona... over a period of months.... even become a VIP member in their "other guise"????
