  1. Does that make it an Asian ETA? God help us... here we go again Offshore
  2. @TomH, Can I steal your siggy... to add to mine? @slay Read my ( and TomH's) siggy's! Looks like kenberg carried out his due diligence and made a wise decision ( as one would expect from our admin team ) Pity others didn't also invest more time (than money) in this pastime. Caveat Emptor. Offshore
  3. Yeh, or start investigating your every move within the organisation.... to see if they actually paid for it! Offshore
  4. Spring bars are avail curved, I have heaps. PM me with a size and i'll check my box. Offshore
  5. CS, I am unworthy of being named as the finder of the wonderful ND DJ, in point of fact, more than a little embarrassed! Moreso when one views the wonderful quality snug fitting strap attached, a highlight for all strap connoisseurs. The other unfortunate side, to the story of this amazing piece, is that it had a sibling sister..... well I have to relate, that just recently, a 3rd sibling of this piece, came in to my possession... unfortunately not in working condition. However, I am working with the maestro Ziggy, to try to breath new life in to this prime example. It would appear that the Japanese quartz movement, has gone to the rep graveyard in the sky, but I can happily report that I have located a suitable Chinese replacement, and matching spacer ring, so a transplant is on the cards.... and possibly soon, another working example of this beauty will exist. I will keep same in my house of horrors, until the next opportunity in one of our raffle giveaways, to pass on the legacy! Offshore
  6. Torques, My experience has been that I have scrimped on tools initially, only to replace them with better quality , further down the track. So the better ones only cost you more in the longer term.........Anyone want to buy a bunch of cheap tools?..... CHEAP! Offshore
  7. Thought some may get a laugh from this ebay offering ( but don't bid on it !) She certainly doesn't love her ex! http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Ex-husbands-BULOVA-...1QQcmdZViewItem Offshore
  8. Sorry my friend, but you are wide of the mark here.........Veeeerrrry wide! May I respectfully suggest you do a little research, prior to making such profound statements. Zig has been around these parts for some time now... and has contributed ten times, no 100 times, more worth to our forums, than he ever may have received.... I personally know it is a labour of love for him... the few $$ which come his way are just, in a small part, some contribution for his time and input. Why don't you hang around for a couple of years, give us all your varied insights; we really love nothing more than learning about the art... and when you have finally earned the acceptance of the members, your theories may hold some weight. But right now, you are a bit akin to a seal cub, lying on an ice flow, with a pack of killer whales circulating.... as said iceflow drifts past the equator! I too, do a little repair work, am still learning, value forums such as this (and NAWCC) for the wealth of knowledge I can gain, and hopefully improve my skills. I read your comments (repair) with interest, and have read many similar posts.... but it seems that these "shortcuts" are always decried by those who have the "passion" for repairs.... as against those who want to just fill their bank accounts. Welcome to our little home, I wish you a long existance here, as you can certainly offer us some valuable input and ideas. Let's see if your next input here can be less " inflammatory" Offshore
  9. Zigg. Yes, there are ways... and the correct way... I'm still learning.. hopefully the correct way. There have been heaps of discussions on this @ NAWCC... this, the last in a long line of them. http://www.nawcc-mb.com/bbv2/bbBoard.cgi?a...=15;gtid=223542. I'll take clean feet to clean shoes and socks... any day.... otherwise things just start to smell.!!! Offshore
  10. Can you give me an I D, and an O D? Are they flat gaskets, or O rings that you need? May have some.
  11. As a true blue... have to say congrats to our Aussie team... World Cup Champs '99. '03, and now '07... this will be a record hard to eclipse! Probably will be said that they are like night and day, compared to the rest.... and it was a bit of that in the Carribbean What a farcical end, to a stunning victory.... still the score is on the board... even if the players saw the score... more than the end of the game! Offshore
  12. Yep.. S L O W .... we hear you guys! Admin will have a look at it ASAP, and that will be quicker than SLOW Bear with us, we are trying to sort a few probs! Offshore
  13. Well I just had 2 posts deleted, bloody undemocratic if you ask me.......no right of reply. One wonders just how much info is summarily deleted or edited.. not to mention members being banned for voicing an opinion. Certainly not the way I work. Offshore
  14. Yep...Bad day at work...FAAAAAR too many rums tonite! Bed now... hangover tomorrow! Discretion is the better part of valour!
  15. Yes, a shock like that is bound to leave "markings" on the bowl, not normally seen Just hope that a bowl so destroyed, is not ever used in the replication process, it would drive some more anal members of the RDG to drink..... just thought about that last comment.... anal was not the best choice of words... but then again, some of those rep guys cannot be categorised any other way.... Hmmmm... ANAL? Maybe its actually the R A G?
  16. If all the seals are good and lubricated, you only need to "nip" the back down, you are not creating a seal with extra pressure, just distorting the O Ring. Usually I find if a watch is difficult to open, the problem exists in the thread.... I did however work on a divers watch, where the owner had noticed the case back was "loose", whilst he was at depth (130') and had finger tightened it underwater... that was a seriously difficult case back to remove.... @richard.... don't think tape would have ever moved this one!! Offshore
  17. Ah yes, I see now... Dunny Zone... protectors of original dunnies, the world round. Just look out that the Australian Federation of W.C. Producers, doesn't become involved.. they wield a giant fist ...especially in the replica Dunny market! Just maybe , we need to send a couple of blueprints to our Asian friends... although I will bet they will mispell Caroma... or worse still, etch "skid marks" on the bowl sides ....indelibly
  18. For heavens sake Ryannon... this is a replica forum, so obviously we are only discussing replicas
  19. Dave, So pleased to see you post again. Sorry to hear of your recent problems, but great to see your positive attitude, and that means you're already on the way to recovery. Dave, I just reread your siggy, and I hold it up to all the members ..old and new.. as a thought to take with them. Good to see you here again mate, and hope to talk real soon. Offshore
  20. TTK, You are of course, again, correct. We , as a group have become overly complacent, and now it's biting us on the bum... big time. (I looked at your post on the other thread, will leave it to our admin manager to deal with.) Maybe now is the time to say...People, a little decorum please. If you are unsure of forum etiquette, PM one of the mods before posting something which may be questionable, and ask for advice. Offshore
  21. Ry, Can't beleive that "Regina" knocked you back. Ohhh.. the synchronisty of it all.. of a rep buyer & seller.. or looking at it another way... a giver.. and receiver Offshore
  22. Quite! As said elsewhere, this is a mere speedbump in the life of repnuts. For every problem, there is a solution (or two or three) Just may take a little time to find it. Peace people. Offshore
  23. Perceptive? No Ry, just timing! Would only ever expect your "gut" to propose such! But Genuine Watch Group just doesn't have the same ring to it! Offshore PS Whilst this is a pain in the A... it is but a mere speed bump, in the life of Repnuts.
  24. TRL=Thin Red Line... still meaningless...although a search may gain a or two!
