lol as expected this thread is bordering on going off topic
i do think we should have a best buys thread its usefull for newbies and there is a credit crunch going on so its usefull to everyone
Yeah, I agree. We should start a serious one when we get back to RWG1.
-
these pics makes me want to work much harder
Is that PVD?
Great looking cars - I agree
-
What about the A class Mercedes?
Ugly, poor handling, far too expensive for what it is.
-
you're the best greg - us quartz fanatics must stick together - strength in numbers ya know
-
aren't you just full of problems greg
Problems?
naaah. No problems.
-
I'm sure this one is exactly into your league, right?
Well, they can wash MY car any time they like. The jelly mould you can keep.
-
This is a Mercedes, not that trailer/taxi thing:
No taxis, true - they use those for delivering mail.
BTW That has to be the ugliest/stupidest-looking car Mercedes ever made (with the possible exception of the A class).
-
or set your computer to the watch - might be easier
Prolly not since the computer gets set from a network time server
-
yummy! a "quartz" version - I love quartz!
I know - I was trying to find a quartz Daytona just for you, but the SLR was the closest I got.....
:D

set the time with your computer (to the second) and see what's up tomorrow
That's how I invariably set my watches. Still gonna be kinda hard to tell with this thing, but we'll see.

aww come on greg - live a little
I've ordered mine this morning - just got tracking number
From Eurotimez, yes?
-
Tssssssk, Merc lover.
$118. Tag Mercedes SLR

Benz porn
I live just a few miles from Mclaren's HQ where they build the SLR. Awesome car, but just a tad outta my league.

What the [censored] did I do?
Oh, I'm sorry:
"It beats the photos of those high quality 1:1 indistinguishable from the real thing canal street reps that Onze posted".
Better?
-
I suppose it is true...
>
ewwww - well, that's put the damper on the thread for sure
-
This is better
-
are you posting rolex to purposely sabotage this thread?
No, I'm posting Rolex to this thread to wind you up
:D
And seriously, whilst I wouldn't buy one myself, I think it's a nice looking watch. Anyhow, it beats the canal street junk that Onze posted.

Have you checked out the new ultra sub compact Daiwoos? They get pretty good mileage.
Hell, I could just get a skateboard....
Mazda, allways nice:Has she lost her ice cream?
Anyway, Mazda doesn't count. Benz or nothing.

Still no boobies ?
This is a car thread. You can only have boobies if they're draped over a Mercedes....
Just got back from giving the AMG a good run - steady drive down to Portsmouth for lunch and back after. The round trip is about 120 miles, 80% of it being fast dual-carriageway, which means a fairly economical trip - just 20 mins or so of country roads at this end, and a short stretch of slow roads in the middle. I filled up the tank before we left and filled up again when we got back so's I could work out fuel consumption.
So... on this journey I got 30mpg. WTF!!!!???
A big, heavy, car with a 5.5 litre supercharged V8 and it does 30mpg! How!!!???
On the same journey, I've never gotten much more than that in the old car with an engine less than half the size. First time I did the figures, I thought I'd got it wrong, so I did 'em again.... Yup. 30. I didn't even take it that easy - just drove how I usually do on that trip (which I do often).
Gonna try a cross-country journey tomorrow to see how that fares...

This thread should only be for Greg, he is the cheap bastard over here
These are all a bit too expensive for me.....
:D
Not too impressed with the IWC as the case looks wrong for that model. The AP is VERY nice, however - I might not be able to resist that one. The Rollie DeepSea lite is also very tempting.
The Corum looks like an explosion in a candy factory, but to each his own
How about this:
Bvlgari Assioma Petit Complication. Same 1:1 case as the 'super rep' Assioma. Working flyback hour hand. $138

ya just had to stun us with another $55 watch didn't ya
looks a bit small (for me anyhow) but anything that looks like a watch and actually works at that price is a good thing - you'll see cheaper straps with a deployment for that price - the watch was a bonus
let us know how it keep time and power reserve
LOL - yeah, I just can't resist 'em. It's not just that I'm cheap (although, of course, I am
), but I'm truly astonished at how good a watch can be at these kinda prices. Photos don't do it justice.
Although it is 40mm, it wears smaller - feels smaller than my VC, certainly. I've been wearing it since it arrived and so far it is completely accurate (or at least, as accurate as a watch with no second hand can be). We'll see about power reserve, but my $55 rollie manages about 30 hours...
-
Dial got lost in shipping or what?
Moths.
-
Okay - for a change, I'm going to talk about watches.
Once again, Tony's been amazingly quick sending this watch. It arrived in just 1 week - and that's by airmail! That's about as fast as Josh manages to the UK via EMS! Second time he's done it too.
Anyhow, I bought this through his CQout store for about
What are you driving?
in The looney bin
Posted
A truly grand piece of machinery, mate - I can see why you bought it.
I'm not going to post my current car to this thread as the tree kinda spoilt the lines.... lol. I'm taking the AMG for a last spin today, but I'll be back to driving a crappy courtesy car tomorrow (a horrendous piece of garbage made by Renault ... or Peugeot.... one of those, I forget...
).
