  1. Maybe. These things are like cars, seemingly never ending. The results are very good! And it sounds as though you did it the way most of us do. How did you reprint the dial?
  2. Yep, I think it is the same case, both from Hong Kong. Ken refers it as a 'Tiger' once or twice on his site, Ebay's 'onlinestorehk' calls it a 'Tiger'. Like the Silix case, they do take the larger 28mm dial.
  3. That 'Tiger' case from the guy on Ebay, and the same as Raffelstime's no crownguard case, would make a nice 6204. And Ken has the 6mm Brevet crown too.
  4. I use Brasso on the crystals and the acrylic/lexan inserts for the 6542. Makes `em shine like new. Most any light polish will work.
  5. I think those are two separate functions within the movement. The GMT 4th hand is driven by the date wheel function. The hand winding is a function of the winding pinion at the stem, on the opposite side of the movement. While the 'leg bone's connected to the knee bone and the knee bone's connected to the thigh bone', the winding function should not be affected at all by modifying the movement to GMT or by keeping the GMT function non-adjustable.
  6. Why don't you address the one who started and perpetuates it.
  7. Your reaction to this thread and subsequently to my statement indicate that being "all ears" hasn't served you well at all. Your latest post offers no evidence of any semblance of reality either. You have no need to know the details of my service. Just be glad I did serve to preserve your right to be oblivious and insulting.
  8. I spent most of my 38 years in the military fighting the cold war, some in Eastern Europe up close and personal. There's no need to be insulting, but clearly you know nothing about reality.
  9. One man's terrorist is another man's Patriotic hero.
  10. No, but I'd try 'google', and probably try some of our suppliers, like Ken at Rafflestime.
  11. Looks like a Seagull 192s.
  12. I don't believe there is a gasket used. I like Clark's inserts, some here like others better. Will the gen size dial fit the case? As it comes, the GMT hand works with the hour hand but geared to make one complete revolution while the hour hand makes two. It is adjustable, so usable for other time zones. The gen GMT hand is 1.8mm. The modded ETA/Asian 2836/2846 and DG 3804B are usually 2.0mm, some bigger. The gen hand cannot be broached to 2.0mm, it will break the sleeve. I have successfully broached the gen hand to 1.9mm, and turned the GMT pinion down to fit it. Gen Rolex hands will not fit the ETA movement. Most parts suppliers we use have gen style hands for Rolex Tudor that will fit the ETA. I know Clark's has the Tudor Submariner hands, but I don't believe he has them 'aged'. Rafflestime may have the aged ones.
  13. Alt key + 156 = £ Alt key + 0128 = €
  14. And this is the overlay the Chinese factories used to use, and might still, on some of their watches. It's usually stuck on with some kind of sticky glue. Might even be able to Dremel that into shape of the 1065.
  15. The 1065 movement from the 6542 has an interesting rotor setup that might give some ideas. A Dremel tool and a friendly engraver could make that overlay for the ETA rotor, and drill and tap little screws looks to me as though it would be pretty cool!
  16. "hairs", not hares!! Man, that a big one! My grandfather loved eating rabbit stew. I've had it. Some can, but I couldn't get over eating Thumper...
  17. No problem and quite understandable. We're both 'Greek-god handsome', but I'm the one with a few more gray hairs...
  18. Thank you! And, if you are from Scotland JoeyB will accept a half barrel of good single malt in trade...
  19. The 5 parts needed to convert the ETA 2846 will be on the clone ETA that comes with the watch.
  20. I believe the T19 with the beveled edge would work.
  21. I got mine from Watchinternational 2½ years ago, and it clicks fine with little, if any, play. It also goes through TSA metal inspection without setting off the alarm.
  22. I miss the cold war. It was so much more fun.
  23. I really like the Cornino. Damnit!
