I may have a spare ring for you. let me check my part. I remember buying a couple of insert from Helen Wong they came with the retaining ring and I believe those were for the 1680.
Cheers
1570 Movement, Crown, Tube, Tropic, Bracelet, endpieces
Only the case, dial ans hands are not GEN, I may get a set of hands one of these days.
Thanks for looking
I just want to post some pictures of my really small collection, but very special. All the watches has been touched by zyggy. relume, service. The man is an artist. all I can say is that I happy that allowed to be one of his customers.
comments are welcome
The 1665 has
been heavily modified. Lots of genuine parts there.
MBW takes 1570 movement
if you use a gen movement, there is no need for spacer ring
cases pretty much should be no problem
it all depends on how much you would like to spend
The gap is not between the endlink and the case. the gap is between the endlink and the bracelet. the hole that connects the endlink to the rest of the bracelet is too far out. that is what creates a gap.
I have a 1665 with a bunch of gen parts. I even have a 1570 movement installed by The Zigmeister. I would like to hear some comments about replacement dial besides the gen of course.

NDtrading.
Which one is the best way to go. MBK definitively is o.k. but the date does not align well.

Do still own that beauty. If you ever want to part with that one. please, please, let me know I am sure that WM9 is coming with a new version where the crown tube is going to be perfectly center.
what is really a concern is the crappy bracelet that comes with the new style submanriner and GMT ceramic. the big gao between the endlink and the bracelet. I can not believe that they still producing that.
Can the crystal from the 088 be replace with another one anf if so. Which one. I have a DSN 088 and as you mention the cyclops is crappy and awful. not to mention the sunken DW.
Thanks
I have a DSN 088 and I will tell you the dial and everyrhing is very good. but there is one thing that bugs the most. The sunken datewheel and that crappy cyclops. If those issues were fix the watch will be one of the best out there.
Cheers
The Zigmeister did that for me and I believe you need to sand down the retaining ring. Otherwise it will not fit and the crystal will crack. Just like it happened to you.
Cheers
