  1. BASTARD! Quick, heal my eyes! Nope, still bleeding...
  2. Well, looky what I just found...
  3. You're talking big money for the RXW MM20, around $1700-$2000 from what I've seen on the net so far...
  4. Weird, the image you have above has a smudge on it, here we go...
  5. As long as this was brought up, why not throw this question into the mix rather than starting a new thread: What swap options are available for the chrono version?
  6. Great watch, though I'd change the strap- it looks too wimpy to me, needs something more aggressive, heavier, even if it's not a TAG strap...
  7. I suppose we need to know what your definition of "obsession" is before making an educated response, but I'll assume that it's an hour a day. The habit is not the real reason. This week it's watches, next week it's hunting, bowling, golf, gardening... There's something else going on that she's not ready to deal with or understand. I've been married for almost 20 years, and it still floors me that occasionally my wife's friends thank me for letting her go out or do something with them. The thing that makes our relationship better every day is that we're friends first- best friends. We accept each other for who we are and support each other in every way, no matter what. She has things that she enjoys doing, and I have mine. Together, we share in enjoying the greatest part of our lives, our daughter. Everything else comes second. My first guess is that your GF might be somewhat insecure. Look at her family and see if there are any issues with her parents that she may be carrying into your relationship. When you give up something that makes you happy (as long as it's not so obsessive that it has a negative effect on finances or family life), you lose a part of yourself. Sure, it's OK to make sacrifices, but remember that it's OK to have something that's yours. It's something that makes you who you are, and it doesn't mean that you love her or your son any less because you do it. See if you can figure out what's really bothering her and work with her to work through them. It might also help to explain a little about your "obsession." Maybe help her to understand a little about what you see in this hobby, and the relationships you might have with others men who share your interest. Let her read some of the posts and she'll begin to understand that she has nothing to worry about- who the heck would be interested in trying to hook up with one of us?
  8. Wow, that's sharp! Way cooler than Rolex, and bound to give them a little more competition for sure...
  9. Absolutely! Great job!
  10. Bah, beat me too it...
  11. I remember now that the quartz had the ticking. It does have a date feature- which is close to the DJ style, and I'm sure that I could swap an appropriate DW to make it more correct. I just got a gen Omega Electronic dial in the mail today. I'll take a photo a little later. Putting it over the existing dial that came with the watch, it looks like it will fit perfectly.
  12. I have fallen in love with the incredible sweeping of the Tuning Fork and want to put it into a really decent rep. My first thought was to try and find a good OysterQuartz which seems like the most appropriate watch for this to be in. Trying to find one of these though is a challenge. I'm open to all other thoughts. The start... An example of the sweeping that I fell in love with...
  13. Is it just me or can you really tell that Rolex steel is brighter than the rep steel? I have this stuck in my head and can't seem to get over it...
  14. Nooooooo! Get the "(Man Size)"!!!!! "Same Structure as ETA Version," is that the new lingo for "copy" or "mostly like" or "significantly similar" or "the best your cheap [censored]* can buy" or.... You'll like the Milgauss. *wow, this forum is getting a little too sensitive to the milk toasts out there when it censors are ess.
  15. Also: and... Take a look at the crown and the huge difference there, where the < lines up over the hour marker (actually, I just realized this varies on the NDT version also), how ROLEX lines up over PERPETUAL......... not only that, but the auction shows the same photos for the refinished dials so there's really no way of knowing what you're going to get- chances are though that they're using the best finished dial they have. OK, the more I look at the link Stephane gave, there are a number of variations in the quality of the dial over the years. Ack, I learned something new today and I'm not afraid to admit it!
  16. They get younger every year...
  17. No, not in my opinion. They have those for sale all the time there and the quality of the painting is terrible- at least as far as I'm concerned.
  18. This is like saying Richard Simmons is kinda gay...
  19. I'm at a loss for words so I'll just say awesome watch!
  20. For me it's kinda of like "get that comfortable shoe feel with a little pizazz!"
  21. You may also want to use a plastic basket if the bottom of the US is stainless for peace of mind-
  22. My first reaction was no way, but if you're putting more than one piece in at a time, and they are in contact with each other, then yes. There's nothing in a clean solution that would cause scratches, but the action between the vibrating pieces of equal tensile would present an opportunity to cause marks. The longer they are in contact with each other, the greater the damage.
  23. Left is the gen, final answer. The biggest give away for me is the difference in case edge finish, then there's that end link fit on the rep, date font... With that said, I'd be happy to wear either one, though preferably the one on the left.
  24. That's it. I've been wondering what should be next in the collection and I've been sold on this. Time to start putting some things up on eBay... Wait! I've got some clients that I need to bill out!!!! Whew... If anyone wants to pm me with where I should get my Slevin with the metal bracelet, I'd be most appreciative. Thanks for sharing the pics Prsist, seeing your wrist shots was the deciding factor for me, just the right size. What a gorgeous watch!
