  1. DLC Coating by Avitt. Better than sex... and lasts longer too.
  2. That's easy! I like the white- no wait, the brown... no wait, the white... but that brown looks rich... ACK!
  3. Here's the info and pics, and a great opportunity to read the opinions of those in-the-know about what makes this a bad rep... Rolex Daytona 6263 "Paul Newman" Replacement Case ? 18K yellow gold. Ref# is 6263 The serial# is after extensive wearing with the gold braclet no more visible. This side of the case is polished smooth between the lugs. Dial is "Paul Newman style": original, but refinished. Movement is a Valjoux 727 The movement runs very well but it should get serviced. Gen: From eBay auction pics... Gen movement... Is that a lume dot on the crown? -Lume dots look bad -Missing marker at 11:00 -New bridges? They don't seem to match the age of the rest of the movement -Serial is rubbed off? How weird is that? -Lug holes seem like they've been drilled with a Black & Decker These are the things that strike me as an amature, I could be right, I could be way off...
  4. Some of Craig's skits are a little lame, but I'd take him any day over Conan, whom I don't find funny at all. Craig is real, where Conan seems so self important that none of what he says is amusing. I'd rather throw salt in my eyes than watch his show.
  5. Toronto is one of our favorite places to visit, and way better to see shows than Broadway! Now I'm hungry... there's a lot of great restaurants in Toronto, and there's nothing like getting a breakfast in Canada Vs here in the states. Mmmmmmmm Canadian bacon!
  6. Very cool, hard to find a rep of his watches- I've looked a little but haven't seen any. Seems like I've seen the name before ona rep site, but can't remember more than that.
  7. Who did your dial logo work? I've noticed your logo before and love it, great job!!! Should have mentioned that before...
  8. Got a HB DG2813, thought about using it in a V3 DSSD but the hands don't fit, any ideas? HB DG2813 on the right...
  9. Here, make it easy on those that want to participate! tough choice, but for versatility, I'd have to go with the IWC
  10. I saw some fuzzy photos of the watch on eBay and thought I'd look into what she had. Here's the email I got from the seller about the watch: Sorry it took me so long to get back to you. Today is the first chance I've gotten to have the watch looked at. I took it to our local rolex dealer and she said it was a replica but it was the best rep she'd ever seen....She said the sweep was amazing. She'd never seen a rep that had such a smooth sweep of the second hand. Any who. I'd be willing to go $300. Let me know what u think... Thanks...Melissa If you're interested, please add 15% finders fee to the asking price and I'll connect you with Melissa.
  11. I knew I saw that config some place, though it seems to me that it was on another watch. Now that I've had some sleep, I'll be able to do a little more research. Here's the Blackbird for reference... vs Others as I find 'em... Bentley 6.75 White Dial Looks like the movement to get might be: -Asian 7750 second at 3 automatic chronograph movement at 28800vph
  12. I saw this posted somewhere that I can't recall, and only wish I was the originator of the idea. With that said, maybe I can be the one that actually creates it. I am no watchmaker, so even considering attempting to do this on my own wreaks of insanity. Here's what I'm talking about... I'm thinking that there's a custom dial company out there that could probably do the dial, it's the movement that has me the most concerned. The rest of the watch looks like I could pick the parts up off the shelf. One of the components that would be the most important to me would be that I'd like to see the case come from a Submariner, with holes and pushers installed. The Daytona is too small as it is. Using a Sub case would make a Rolex chrono that would better fit us guys with larger wrists. It would also allow for being able to find the ceramic bezel that this needs. From what I can see, the biggest obstacle would be finding a movement in this configuration with chronos and date- at least as far as I'm aware of what's available which isn't saying much. Soooooooo, watcha think?
  13. Woman had this for sale as a gen but was pulled because she was told it was a rep. She says she took it to an AD who told her it was the best rep she's ever seen. I can't remember ever seeing a dial like this one on a rep before but I just saw a gen dial (so the ad says) that reminds me of what this woman has to sell. Here are the pics I have to work with, pretty crappy but better than some of the half-assed postings in the trade area that don't even have a photo... Here is the dial that I found that made me question my first impression... I know, two different dials but it does show something I hadn't seen before so thought I'd share anyway... I'm curious to hear your opinions, thanks!
  14. I vote REP! Look at the font spacing on TACHYMETRE. Shoot. After looking at stevethebest's watch, it's hard to tell...
  15. I've been thinking about getting one of these for a while now. I did a comparison to the gen and it looks like one of the best reps out there. My only concern with this is that the carbon fiber might peel. If I could be convinced that it would last as long as the watch, I'd get one for sure. The other thing that I love about the watch is that it's one that nobody would expect to be a rep. Unique and big- definitely works for me.
  16. Two questions: What is the final answer to the whether the gen dial is matte or glossy? There are posts that go so far as the show how to "correct" or simulate a matte dial, yet I have had a conversation with a dealer that states that the gen dial is indeed glossy. From what I can find on line for gen dials, they seem matte to me, but it's a challenge to tell in most of the photos. When these next generation dials are made, is there any chance that they'll be sold individually for dial swaps?
  17. Face it, you've been bitten. Oh, it starts off as seemingly harmless curiosity, then being indecisive about your first watch. But as the poison spreads and begins to infect your whole brain, you'll find yourself rummaging through your garage and attic, maybe even the kids, relatives and neighbors stuff to sell on eBay or craigslist because you need to feed your addiction. Cutting off both your arms won't help, you'll still find a place to wear one... My condolences to you and your family.
  18. And this one that just popped up today! Looks better than the Rerfect Clones version to me. I think it's time to upgrade and git me one of these... Gotta look around for some rep money!
  19. Nice watch! Just added this to my "Got To Get" list...
  20. What? Just because we're not posting funny Sponge Bob quotes?
