I think the vintage 703 crown is pre-2000, maybe earlier.

here are my two- The numbers at 12 o'clock are 71585 and 71922- so they are very close datewise. Yours look like either 50395 or 60395 and would appear to be slightly earlier. Since the chrono pushers are round, I still date these watches from the 50s. If they had the longer rectangular pushers I'd say 40s.

I've got a very similar watch, actually I've got two of the same watch. Here's a pic of one of them on the left Your dial is in better shape. Movement is the Valjoux 72 and I date the watches to the late 50s- possibly early 60s before the Carrerra with the V72 which came out in 1963. These watches are worth around $1000 on ebay, some sellers try to sell them for more but don't have much luck. I don't know which set of hands are earlier, yours or mine. They may be from the same time, or at least are very close timewise. That case isn't the best- R863698 is the oldest serial number in repdom! I'm sorry, but I think you would have been better off buying a BP SD.

I can't say if your dial is re-finished or not, but it does look very nice. I date these watches before 1963- late 50s, so for a dial to be in that good of a condition seems a little unusual. Here's another similar era watch that has a nice white dial but with no lume- I would figure it's a re-do. I do think my dial has been re-done- at least relumed. I'm not sure it's a piece of shit, and for $138 what do you have to loose? But highoey is right- the jubilee might not fit and isn't really correct for that watch.

First of all, I doubt the last batch of MBWs had the correct lughole size- they never have before. I'd certainly give the DJ springbars a try- they're cheap from Clark's. WM9 had gen like bezel construction, so can you pop the bezel and see what it's like? Also, what's the SN? And what about the sides of the center SELS- are they gold plated? WM9 sides of SELs were gold plated. Crown guards look good. Oh, WM9 V1 had a 2836-2, V2 had a small eta and V3 had a 2824-2. Crown position on the V3 was the best (highest). I know nothing about what WBK offered.

Here's the Date watch- little brother to Seafoam's DJ Mine dates from 1966 or so and the silver aged to oyster or light cream- this was fairly common on DJs and Dates during that time frame

Case wise, the 16610 is similar as is the 16800. Movement wise, it's a Rolex 3135 movement, so start to google and I'm sure you'll find what you need

Batteries that work are possibly the 386 and the 357. You really need to find a watchmaker that works on quartz watches. Don't know where you're located, but even a GP dealer would be a good option if you had one close by.

Like Tom says, you have to find a watch with a V72 in it but that the sellers doesn't realize is a V72. Try 'vintage chronograph' and then look for the asymmetrical pushers and you'll have to know what a V72 movement looks like so you can tell if there's a movement pic. AND GOING THRU VINTAGE CHRONOGRAPHS ON EBAY CAN TAKE A LONG TIME! Others have tried the various watch brands, but there's a boatload of brands that used V72s. These days I'd figure around $1K for a decent V72. Watch out for the early Heuers- pre-Carrera, they used a V72 with larger plates and won't fit in the Daytona cases. Like the one on the left!

Well forget about the son of Phong dial- won't work with a ST 19 movement. Also, I don't know if the ST-19 will fit in the DW 7750 case- the ST-19 is 14 ligne and the 7750 is 13.25 ligne.

I saw the second dial on the bay- world time inc- aka son of Phong. He states it has been previously used which might explain the slightly rough condition under magnification. Keep one thing in mind- that dial is for a non oyster Daytona like a 6239 and there's nothing else out there that I've seen lately (possibly MQ, but I hate overly high prices and the risk of stuff coming from Vietnam). There's no comparison with the $25 6263 dial- they're two different beasts.

Or you could try Phong... My 5508 from NDT 8 years ago has the paper clip bezel- a crystal retention ring and the brass alloy bezel with the 8 sided wire in the bezel.

Guess I need to check the backside of the cgs when I get home and also the engraved 'E's on the case!
