i particularly like the great white pic pugwash (maybe it's because i just got mine from euno) deltatahoe btw, did you look into finding a tritium pearl? from what i understand they are really tough to find these days....do you know when rolex began using superlume pearls? i'm guessing we could just claim they replaced the bezel insert when it went in for service...

Why doesn't anyone show their faces around here?

while it is kind of fun to see what people look like, i kind of like NOT knowing what people on the forums look like....people's personality come through via their writing.....it's kind of a like reading a book....you form a vision of what you think a particular person is like in your mind's eye..... here's a picture from my trip to cabo last week....i figure your guys won't mind too much that it's cropped given the lovely lady that is accompaning me in the picture.... the mysterious deltatahoe -

@cc, it's always good to see a proud father. looks like your son was sporting a digital watch 5 yrs ago....any chance he's getting a watch from dad as a high school graduation gift? deltatahoe -
welcome rolexsandwhich hold onto your wallet -- as you say, there is no end in sight deltatahoe btw, speaking of wallets, purchasing a VIP membership to RWG is money well spent

deltatahoe replied to a topic in The IWC Area
@sql_pl, you realize you've found the watch nerd's holy grail, right? a good looking girlfriend who is into your watches and doesn't think it's at all odd to be taking lots of pictures of them.... -
pugwash you know you will regret selling that watch, even if it is for $350....
-
that is a nice looking deployant....might i ask where you got it doc? unless my eyes are failing me it looks like the strap is from official time, right? thanks in advance, deltatahoe

i wouldn't dare "convince" anyone to try reluming anything this is not easy work, particularly on models someone has never tried before. just my .02 deltatahoe

So I was wondering how you choose what watch to wear?
deltatahoe replied to cableguy's topic in General Discussion
just wait till your watch collection grows to 10+ or 20+ watches.... what i'm wearing definitely has an impact on my decision, but i like to generally change things up too.....something different for each day of the week most of the time for me.... deltatahoe -
Ziggy is the man :-) - pictures to prove it
deltatahoe replied to lovepanerai's topic in The Panerai Area
they look awesome LP (your pics are always first rate) -- fantastic work from ziggy as usual the 217 in particular looks really great (love those monster superlumed hands) -- i cannot wait to get my 217 (superlumed, cannon pin fix and chieftang single sided AR coating) back from ziggy.... deltatahoe -
HBB: Is it just me or is it not 1:1 as the dealers have said?

closed - mini group buy - eta valjoux 7750 day & date wheels
deltatahoe replied to deltatahoe's topic in The IWC Area
sounds perfect. thanks pugwash i figure we'll give it a couple days to see if a couple more people want in, then we'll go ahead and proceed with the ordering. deltatahoe -
so i've decided to upgrade my iwc 3717 and costeau diver (once it arrives) with new eta valjoux 7750 day & date wheels from cousins UK; the shipping cost for these is a significant portion of the total cost of the wheels, so i figured i'd see if anyone would be interested in going in with me to save on shipping. i did a group buy for the 45mm PO silix rubber strap to help everyone save on shipping and it worked out well, so i figured might as well give this a shot. i'm looking for maybe three or four other people maximum for this mini-group buy. the day wheels are $6 each and the date wheels are $7.40 each; you can see details in the following links.... for iwc costeau divers: day wheels & date wheels for iwc pilot's watch (3717): day wheels & date wheels the shipping cost it is showing just for my order is $16.59; i'm not sure if it will go up when more wheels are added, but i can't imagine it would increase that much. feel free to PM me or post here if you're interested in going in on a mini-group buy (united states only) -- i'd like to get these ordered by the end of this week. please respond to this thread or PM me by the end of the day today if you'd like to participate in this mini-group buy. thanks for looking deltatahoe

it a pam 063 day for me today... deltatahoe

i don't see any reason why these genuine items cannot be insured....i would talk to your insurance company about it -- tell them collecting watches is a hobby and you have lots of spare parts (dials, cases, movements, etc) that you want to make sure are insured. it would probably help if you had receipts of some sort for these, but i'm guessing you can get them insured for replacement value some way or another.... if/when you talk to your insurance company, post back here if you can remember -- i'd be interested to hear what they say about it.... deltatahoe
-
for me it would depend on what the intended use will be.....if you want dressy, i say go for the white dial bce on a leather or crocodile strap....if you want sporty, i'd go for the sfso on a genuine breitling rubber strap.... hope this helps... deltatahoe
-
this is good news.....the reason i asked is it would seems like it is going to take a lot of lume to do it.....but when it's done, wow i think this is a mandatory mod for this watch deltatahoe
-
@kruzer, has ziggy confirmed that he can/will relume this one? thanks, deltatahoe
-
great combo rolli....your pam/strap collection is just amazing deltatahoe

@ttk, in your previous posts, you mentioned that you weren't a huge fan of the big bang....has your opinion changed? deltatahoe ps, please check out my thread here

Great to see all the modders here
deltatahoe replied to Greystash's topic in Introduction/Rules/Support
welcome to RWG greystash i never cease to be amazed at the skills and knowledge of those found here on RWG. while it is intimidating at first, soon you'll find yourself understanding more and more.... have fun learning; i think you'll find that upgrading to VIP is a worthwhile cause -- it will bring your understanding to a whole new level deltatahoe -
acceptable behavior from one of our trusted collectors?
deltatahoe replied to deltatahoe's topic in General Discussion
this is correct -- thanks for helping make this clear b16a2. deltatahoe -
these things happen. certainly no reason to send it back to the dealer. easy fix is to send it someone like flavor flav who can fix it no problems
