  1. I know about Bricciola, and he's my first choice in the EU At this point, he's the only one I'd trust (apart from The Zigmeister) with my watches. I was just curious about this one, as it was still up there. I found a link from another page about watchmakers.
  2. So whatever happened with this guy ? Did people get their watches back in a reasonable time ? (note: I was away from September/October until May this year)
  3. Any ETA on when you receive it? I guess a comparison review may be in order... Thank Zeus for Lanikai!
  4. Good news! I'm checking with another dealer to find out the information If this is definitely titanium, is this the best version (after a relume) ?
  5. Rep life will probably mean you need to make a watch out of both V1 and V2
  6. Just look in the trade section. I think the best ones were the MBW ones but they were $500-600 when they came out. I'm not sure of the current prices. You're better off getting the sec at 12 if you are ok with getting it serviced. Also use the search button near the top right which will reveal prior discussions on this topic.
  7. Did you get all the screws threadlocked when you had it serviced?
  8. Just saw this for the first time as I away at first time of publication. Fascinating write-up Amazing that some people with DRSDs from the 60s have never serviced their watch. I wonder what they would do if they saw this ? Probably freak out !
  9. Hope the project is going well.. I'm in the same city as you, and wondering if I should go through the same process as you. I have the "donor" watch already.
  10. I guess my problem is the ethics of taking apart a vintage 50s watch that I have to put this together... I'm torn I almost got an Ebel a while back for the El Primero movement but I'm not sure if I could have done that either (with respect to "Mr Ebel" By-Tor as well, everytime I'd see him on a thread, I'd feel guilty)
  11. MP, how does the pusher side view compare to the gen? I guess with the pushers being that size, the genuine didn't need to show that the crown was below the plane of the pushers, but I can't seem to find any pics saved of it.
  12. these were made in a limited run a few years ago using the same movement as the genuine. you'll be lucky to find one for $1k on the trading boards... it'll probably cost more.
  13. Rolli's a great guy I guess I'm prepared to wait for a few months to find out what happens
  14. Just to finish... posted in the other thread by Lani that the case back is SS, as on the dealer's website.
  15. I found the two I got from lello when he did them before
  16. Another dealer told me the case back of the previous version was titanium, but you have the watch! Josh's site says SS though, as it does for this new version Well at least that SS caseback keeps me from the poor house.
  17. note: reviving the thread... CPR.... We've seen that Freddy's watch from the first post is now almost readily available if you know where to look. What are people's opinions now? I'm torn between getting one of these (for the reasons Freddy has stated, biggest tell of pusher locations is fixed) or going the route of a DW/Phong case with a V72 movement (which I already have). However, I've read about problems of fitting the V72 into the DW cases made for them and I'm unsure. This is one of the few Rolexes I like (along with the DRSD... and have to figure out what to do with my genuine 3035 movement too), but I'm really torn with indecision
  18. The DLC is great, no doubt about that, but if you are trying to get your rep as close to gen as possible, then you need the correct PVD. As far as I know only 2 people ever did that. Finepics way back when, and the company he used got taken over and won't do it anymore (in the UK I believe), and Rolli. No one else has colour-matched the PVD perfectly apart from these two, as far as I know. However, if you are not bothered about getting your watch close to gen, then DLC is fine if you prefer that
  19. Good luck Mr Admin I guess everyone will actually do their day job for once
  20. I trust that Rolli has the colour matched, and my 028 is also awaiting the same PVD treatment. If we all just get a bunch of people wanting to get the 028s done, I'm sure it'll be easier for Rolli once there are enough of us. I'll be patient as I know Rolli will get the correct one done. I don't know if Avitt has colour matched his PVD to the correct colour for this PAM. The DLC is something I am thinking of going for though. Where did you get the correct cyclops from? and who did the lume? I'm not sure I'll bother with the lume but I need that correct cyclops.
  21. i think he has his own subforum under modding.
  22. Cool! So you really DO need that computer Wish I had one...
